Civilian punch

Post by 301_HysterX »

Hello all,

Today I tryed the new sandbox version (hell yeah ive nothing else to do), and in all those bullshits I found one stuff pretty cool, Ok it's fun, not really realistic but fun, and a fun touch in PR would be welcome :P

This "fun" stuff is really simple. They removed the knife. So when you try to use it and stab something, you can see the animation, but without the knife, and it looks like a punch...

As you can see in the title, I think it would be a great new stuff for the civilian... A combo punch/stone would be deadly :P

What do you think of this shit ?

Here is a screenshot :

Civilians are really supposed to be non combatants and if they got that close to punch somebody, they are just going to get knifed anyway so why bother?

I like stupid stuff. So i like this. For the civillians it would be a cool weapon. If Two or three punches kill an enemy.

Apart from for the fun of it?

I can see people be stupid enough to get killed by this. On the other hand though, you do have a point in that it's not very practical.

And the other way?
Civilians get punched instead of knived.

Not a bad idea IMO. But I don't want the punch to be very powerful. It should probably just throw off an enemies aim and cause a small bit of damage (like seven punches to critically wound an unarmored target).

No, I think this stuff is something for the civilians...

And "real" armies don't have to use their punchs, they have good weapons :P

I mean to simulate arresting.
The knive is already only a placeholder.

If you've ever been in a Battlefield 2 knife fight then you'd know that the fastest person wins. It’s never a coincidental two way kill, so the punch could be implemented as a defense action against a knife attack from the coalition. The punch shouldn’t do much harm; just push away the soldier in his attempt to knife the civilian. It's a good resistance arrest alternative.

Sure, but soon as you punch a soldier you then become eligible to get shot without penalty.

^^nah. Still would be outside of ROE to kill him, even if he punched you.

... I've always thought that the knifing animation looks more like a puch than a stab....

LOL!
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch, liberty is a well armed lamb contesting the vote.
