Using reticles?
Do all the markings on the various reticles serve some purpose (especially the tank reticles) or are they just for show (in-game that is)?

Problem with PR is that the reticles are static and does not remain at a correct scale relative the specific magnification, therefore the value given in one level of mag. will not give yield the same result at another, rendering whatever elevation you've figured out at one mag. level useless on another.
Modern (western) MBT's use GPS (Gunners Primary Sights) for lasing targets, however if the LRF, GPS or Ballistic Comp. should fail they will switch to a more primitive targeting system called GAS (Gunners Auxiliary Sights), these fuction pretty much like WWII sights where Lead and Elevation will have to be calculated manually. They are to make it easier to hit targets at long range with the first shot, but I don't know if they are still on tanks IRL because of the fancy programming and range-finding equipment, they also need a lot of training to use effectively.
