Engineer c4

I was playing a map last night, forget which one but i was a combat engineer and we were assulting a bunker placed at one of the flag points on the map, i got out the C4 made a quick dash from cover and threw the c4, unfortuntly i must have acidently clicked twice (in very quick sucsesion) and i ended up blowing the bunker and myself up sky high (and for my squad leader having a go at me for "suicide" bombing. But it was a complete acident.
Should there not be a time delay on throwing the C4 to when you can blow it up, maybe just 4-5 seconds for clumsey people like me, and also for people who would do this purposely?

Haha happends to me to sometimes. Well one question to. Why are slams so weak?

weak against what? They are not supposed to be used against tanks anyway. They could do a little more damage to the apc, but in my opinion they do a pretty good job at destroying jeeps/aircraft and helicopters.

Noooooooo, if ther's delay I wont be able to jihad (I don't anyway, just incase anyone was thinking of giving me funny looks in the street). I always thought there was a delay of like a second or something, when I'm about to be killed by a tank, and I'm an eng, I usually chuck the C4 at it and try to jihad (but only if I'm about to be killed

) it's ***, and it seems to take a second or two to detonate, could just be my imagination though.

well if its like a second i think it should be much longer, after all these are combat engineers not suicide bombers, maybe i think anytghign between 4-8 seconds would be much more realistic and also the squad would have to protect you during that time. Means you cant just run to a objective blow it and well not have to wqorry about staying alive / getting out.

I'd agree with a time delay between placing the C-4 and switching to the big red button because arming C-4 isn't just walking up to a vehicle, door, or bunker, slap it on, run away, blow it up etc.
The time delay could help prove that you are arming the C-4, wiring it up, and getting ready for some fireworks. Not to mention additional teamwork methods will be needed when in combat if this is ever implemented.

Great idea, reduces silly mistakes and eliminates the ability for Jerk Players to turn a corner, throw C4, and blow you up. Plus, it's realistic.
As for SLAMs, they are supposed to be used to neutralize armour, albeit light armour (40mm), but they would be very effective on thin spots. And no doubt they could blow the treads off an Abrams.
I think they should get a little bit more power, at least enough that one could cripple (75-80% damage) a tank. But less blast radius, since they use explosive formed penetrators, not a big boom like C4. Quick google for "selectable lightweight attack munition" and you'll find enough sources to base your opinion of it's power on.
But back to C4, not SLAMs.

I might be wrong but if you are running with your C4 out and go to place it this can result in it exploding. I think this is intentional but not to sure?

Accidental Double Tap is vanilla's fault not PR's. It may seem that it happens more often on PR, but that's because you don't have 5 blocks of C4.

Oh im not blaming PR for it, i was pretty sure it was inherited from vanilla, but would there be a way to change it, i think its worth a serious look.

I thought that IRL you have to press the remote 3 times or something like that but im no demolitions expert

That would be cool.

maybe make timed C4? dont flame me for saying that or anything, just a thought and i dunno if its been brought up

Maybe a timed depression of the key before detonation? so you have to hold the fire key for 3 seconds before the c4 detonates sort of like charging the throw of a grenade so you can throw it further?

Yeah I recall 2 SLAMs didn't blow the APC.
I also recall 1 C4 didn't kill tank.
Is that realistic?

A time depression would also work, but i think a 5-6 second dalay if not more would be more realistic, c4 shouldnt be used whilst your under fire as a last resourt or as a sucide bomb, it shoudl be there for clearning obsticles, or blowing up bunkers in secured areas, giving it a delay before you can activate it would mean people would have to actually be carefull in the situations they are gettinmg themselves in rather that just running and takeing out the objective (lets be honest 1 suicide death probably is worth taking out a bunker for you team, which is why people do it)

Time Delay = Bf2 engine workaround, use the overheating thing on detonator.
But then again I didn't study BF2 Quatum PhysiX at uni.
