Questions about arty...

Post by Szarko »

Now will PRMM have arty like we did back in BF42? The ones where you get to control it and what not?

Also will you need a sniper to spot for you like in BF42?

Finaly will PRMM have motars?

I really cant say much, but in previous interviews/posts by other devs, arty will be manned instead of point and click.

Adding mortars again would tickle me like a school girl.

We do plan to have player manned artillery. We would LOVE to implement the forward observer system from Battlefield 1942 and Vietnam, but sadly, it looks impossible.

Yes, we do plan to have mortars; not sure about deployable ones, though.

Hmmmm is this a good thing? I have seen mortars built into trucks or acps. They would use satelight to fine them then mortar the hell out of the building.
I would really like this becuase mortars is one of the most used ardy and one of the oldest.

What about moveable arty like you have to back up a humvee to it and you can tow it to where you want.

It would be very cool, but unfortunately, articulated vehicles (like semi trucks or other vehicles with trailers) are not possible with the engine.

In some cases you will be within visual range. As for a forward observation system, not sure if one can be implemented. You may have to rely on your teammates to help you adjust fire.

Wasn't there some kind of observer in BF42 where the gunner could see what he was shooting at when he acquired a target via the scouts binoculars?

Or to increase teamwork have a sniper in your squad relay where your shots are hitting and tell you how close you are on VOIP.
