Squad organisation 1:

Post by Morphine-04 »

An ordered squad is much more succesful, making sure each man (or woman) has the right kit, watch who dies and when and make sure you issue the order for him to pick the right kit (some good squads dont need this order).

Choose who is in point position and rear cover (also squad leader body guard) and what kits each of those roles are best with. Use move and cover orders to progress dense areas ... point man takes lead - STOPS and covers as the support guy moves to the next cover location and so on through the squad until point becomes rear guard. Squad leaders can use the move order to advance a squad safely to each cover point. Point man is usually the first to die, if so the second should be ready to drop and warn the squad and return fire (if done right the squad will already be in the best formation for defence and can easily spread around to support).

Good thread.

Something simple to do is divide the squad into two fire-teams.

Bravo team and Alpha team. All kits are based upon the conditions on the ground. The following is a general set-up.

Bravo leader: Point man and high twitch, VOIP, clever, experience being a SL, if not an excellent one.
Bravo two: Rifleman
Bravo three: limited kit

Bravo team takes point when deploying. Bravo team basically does the dirty work. Checks behind corners that sort of thing.

Alpha leader: SL, most likely Officer kit, depends on mission at hand.
Alpha two: support gunner.
Alpha three: medic.

Alpha, is more of a covering fire element to the squad. They watch the Bravo team with bounding watch and supressive fire (continually shooting). Alpha leader and alpha two cover the medic when he/she goes in to provide medical assistance to a member of the Squad/Platoon/Company.
This scenario works well while on the move.

**The Fire team should be placed apart based upon the conditions on the ground. Worse case scenario only 50% casualties take place in a squad with a frag.

While defending or assaulting a location. Assign the fire-teams to locations relative to the flag. For example, Alpha team defends the West side of the flag, Bravo team defend the east. This allows a quick move to positions without a lot of talk. Once there, the HUD can be used for the fire-team leader to make changes.

Communications.

Try to give your fire team name and number when communicating.
For example the Bravo leader would address himself/herself as "Bravo Leader".

Authority.

It is important for the SL to allow the Bravo fire-team leader to control their team if infact Bravo team is away from the SL or Alpah team. The Bravo-Leader is aware of the situation on the ground therefore makes the calls and orders.
