1.41 and 0.6 problem.

Alrighty so I downloaded the 1.41 patch today to play .6 So I installed the patch, installed PR and tried to play. So I get to the loading screen 100% and it crashes. Any ideas of what happened? Could it be the wrong patch or just a random crash?

System specs?
What versions of PR have you got installed?
Any BF2 expansion packs installed (espec SF)?

I have the Deluxe Edition so yah SF is installed and no, no other versions of PR.

As for System Specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6400 @ 2.13GHz (2 CPUs)
Memory 1022MB RAM
Hard Drive: 315 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX
Sound Card: SB X-Fi Audio [CCE0]

Edit: I forgot to say that it still says its version 1.28 or 1.29 not 1.41. Could that be the problem?

Did the installer menu say 1.41?

Thankfully EA hid the version number, choosing to show some random number that don't tell you anything instead...The only real way to check that I know of is to look at the game list under the community tab....It should show what mods/versions you have installed, look for the one that say 1.41 to verify.

Are servers still running .5? I know Ive had the problem of trying to log into servers of the wrong version before with PR...If I'm not mistaken BF2 looks at the mod path,rather then an actual official ver. number for its "same mod" filters. Connecting to a server running a different version
can cause the game to crash as soon as the "join game" shows up.
Try again on a server that has .6 in the name, and see if it works any better...

To check if you have the right version, start PR (or VBF2) and when you get to the login screen, look in the lower left corner of the screen.
There should be a number there.

if it is anything but this: 1.1.2965-797.0
Then you don't have the latest patch installed. Or at least not installed correctly.
