It seems like my post on the other jet thread got drowned out by spam.

So, can't the developers just make it so that when an airplane goes out of boundries on some maps, that it doesnt give you "time until death" message?

Lol, why hasnt anyone else thought of this? This we way we have more area to cover for dogfights.

This has been considerd already, the problem, which was posted in the other thread, is that it can't be done with current BF2 maps without redoing the map basically ( EA are really trying hard to shaft the community ), once new maps start to come out in more quantity, it will be possible to increase the size of the play area, as the creator decides how big the red zone of death should be. Most folks agree that the current maps are pants, so hopefully we should start to see more folks making new and better maps as the mod develops. Unfortunately ( EA shafting again ) the editor is almost unbearable to use unless you are really serious about mapping.

This already has been implemented in vanilla BF2. If you fly an airplane into the "red striped" area of the map that no other vehicles can go, you will not get a warning until you reach the edge of the map.

So I dont know what you're referring to.
