I have been publicizing PR in China since PR 0.4. However, the biggest problem is language. Not many Chinese know English.
I've set up a Chinese wiki and keep translating, updating. That doesn't work very effectively anyway. Most people just drop into the server and start playing. They don't know English, so they will learn nothing during the confusing gameplay. If they ask, we can teach them via VOIP or TS, or guide them to my Chinese wiki. But if they don't? They just give up PR after half an hour.
We translated PR.utxt, prmaps.utxt to help Chinese players, but we found that the most important messages are not contained in the files, such as QM message.
They are defined in *.py, did I guess right?
And the distribution of translated utxt is also a problem.
See if my suggestion is possible, just an example:
Define a variable in *.py, such as HUD_TEXT_QM_MESSAGE_NOT_IN_ZONE. Then add the line to pr.utxt, follow by the message.
HUD_TEXT_QM_MESSAGE_NOT_IN_ZONE##QM: I'm not over there. Get to a designated supply zone. ##
If BF2 can do that, I think it may be possible for PR.
Then translation will be possible for Asian characters. If you send me the *.utxt before public release, I can get them done before you release them. You can find others to translate other languages. If this is possible, perhaps we can get an international version of PR. If the player can see their mother tongue upon installation, they will be soon in their position of fighting.
Some suggestions of international promotion
