Couple of Ideas Init.

Post by UncleRob199 »

I had this idea but then I thought it would only really be useful using extreme stealth strategies. It would be cool if you could shoot an enemies' radio out, disabling their long range radio transmissions. I know its a bit stupid and not very important as its more effective to just pop the guy in the head instead of the radio. Would only really be used using extreme stealth tactics, or if later a map was created with stealth as the main focus.

It MIGHT also be cool if you could shoot an enemies weapon and either damage it or knock it out their hands. Another mediocre idea from me thats pretty rubbish to be honest! And it means you need to fiddle with hitboxes and I duno what's hardcoded etc.

But another thing I was thinking is I think that more classes should have pistols. Most of them if possible. Especially shotgun engineers. Having silenced pistols would especially add to the stealth and variety of gameplay in my opinion. It would also reinforce my first Idea because someone is likely to hear a rifle, and the second idea because if your primary weapon os knocked out your hands, you could pull out your pistol.

Just ideas, read them, consider them, slag them, smoke them.

I'm not sure how to respond, but in the US military only the officers carry
side arms, i think, and doctors.

But i dont think they can be ably to stop VOIP communications because some one shot you in the back. remember the days of big bulky equipment is long gone.

No we have small radios capable of transmitting at very long ranges.

besides you could still shout to you buddies in battle even without the radio.

The first two are hard-coded. The last suggestion, any proof that the combat engineer uses pistols?

You have a point. I just think that not so many people play the combat engineer due to its' short range, and pistols would improve that. But I forgot about how it would be unrealistic.

Well a pistol is going to be outranged by a slug so the range won't be any better.

The idea of silenced pistols seems to me like a SF thing not a standard equipment load out.

Anthony Lloyd, himself a former soldier in the British army and a Northern Ireland and Gulf War veteran:
"The men inside (the APC) might have been UN but they were playing by a completely different set of rules. They were Swedes; in terms of individual intelligence, integrity and single-mindedness I was to find them among the most impressive soldiers I had ever encountered. In Vares their moment had come."
