Voted "none".
A transport helicopter is chosen based on a blend of necessity and what is readily available.
My opinion is that the transport for ground troops should be chosen based on the mission, the terrain and, of course, how dangerous the insertion will be.

what art said plus whatever is realistic, really these polls are beating a dead horse, its been stated that marines dont use the BH mainly, so they probably wont use that in game. i trust the Devs to choose what is realistic, especially since we have a wealth of military knowledge in the military advisors. we could all vote for the BH, which is a great bird, but if the Devs put that in, it would go against the whole idea of Project Reality.

I agree. I dont think anything should be replaced or singled out as a primary mode of transportation.
The different maps have a lot to do with which vehicles are used, ya gotta understand that. So we could have all those helos if we wanted.
No, the Blackhawk isnt the most common mode of ariel transportation for the USMarines but its also not a far fetched idea. Its been proven that they can, do and have used the BH, HH...whatever they need to in order to utilize whats readily available...
I dont think the BH should be replaced, i think it should be remodelled to become the Sea Hawk or Sea Dragon, which ever works best. Then the others could be added in.
For Marines, the UH-1's are probably the most common. Dont quote me im not sure. Regaurdless, the point in the other thread is that different branches of the American Forces will utilize eachothers assets because they're a big team.
Just like us here at Project Reality!
So, the more the merrier! More always takes more time though. So we can only wait and see what the Developers decide to do...

Is the CH-46 still in use by the USMC? That could be interesting too.. 2 full squads, or one squad with a buggy. Could be nice especially on large maps with lots of distance to travel. Something like Wake for instance.
On some maps, espcially those with two AH-1, it could be interesting to replace one with the Littlebird in 2 M-134 configuration. That little bird would bite back

Good point'[PTG wrote: Stu007']Ch 53 I think
howvever, transport should be based on terrain and mission as mentioned above, instead maybe more attack choppers where needed, 'cos I think they are in serious short supply.

The best thing to do is to do a null vote or not vote if you don't know what they are. At least do a Google before picking rather than randomly chosing.
Anyway, I went with the UH-1Y. It's more suited to the rolls used in BF2. The Stallion would be too big... although having said that they're not THAT much larger than an Mi-8 HIP in reality.

Ok if you can't keep this clean this post is getting the allmighty padlock!
Heydude, you will begin to show some maturity or there will be some harder things to use. You are warned. No need to reply to this. If you feel it's an unwarranted warning take it up with me via PM, clear?
I got my eyes on this thread now.
Now, get back on topic fellas.
