No tickets

Post by arjan »

No tickets.. becouse in real life you dont have ticket iether,, just fight till 1 team agieved his objectives...

like if us has an carrier with an UCB that has no flags at all, mec should hold all flags for 45 minutes than the round ends

In real life you don't have tickets, but you have limited number of units.
When all soldiers are killed, you're not going anywhere till you'll get reinforcements.

Tickets are here to simulate this.

Ah and BTW: how would insurgency look then ?
Fight till all British troops get bored and leave ?

Same with maps where you can't recapture lost control points - Oman, Hills of Hampyong (or whatever), ...

This is a bad idea. I mean yes it worked well in old COD but this is PR the maps are easly 100% larger than anything found in COD/COD:UO. I hate to say it but the games in COD where you had unlimited spawns sucked, and then the ones where every body has only one life realy sucked because it made the games so short.

I think what you're looking at is not unlimited tickets but a large number of tickets.

Like 1000 tickets and objective with time limit.

Or just one side with large number of tickets. Say MEC with 1000 tickets and US with 200 tickets but plenty of air units. With one side assaulting and US really need to save their soldier's lives.

Come to think of it we haven't got a map about rescueing pilots yet.

well...i think they should take out the tickets.
TBH, you already get QM notifications "were all thats left", or "work harder soldiers or ill find someone who can!" "were running out of reinforcements"

and then of course the air strike siren at 10 tickets.

its not too important, but i do know when i'm playing games, most people end up fighting and then all of a sudden the game's over, no one looks at their tickets. We just keep fighting like weve got 100 left, even if we lose when 1 guy dies.

Well battles with no tickets could go on for hours.
Even with 800-1000 tickets, battles would still be very long(one tournament battle went on for 4 1/2 with 800 tickets).

well, IRL battles go on sometimes for YEARS.
I dont have a problem with really long matches. In fact, I think matches should only end when an army has COMPLETE control over the entire map. You could have kind of an ongoing battle that lasts sometimes up to 12 hours at a time. ppl could leave and come when ever they want. Lots less loading time, more teamwork.

well from my experience with 6 hour battles in Joint Ops, people will drop out after a few hours, so teamwork might collapse in PR

yeah but then more people join..just like they do now, except theyd drop out during the battle, whilst others join.
i hate getting to something at the end of the round and reloading a map.
loading in bf2 just sucks period.

4 hour battles sound like a very bad idea. Next!

Actually I find it cheesy at the moment when both sides are low on tickets.
The game ends when someone tries to respawn right? :-x

Is it possible to draw? I reckon its should be a draw unless you control all flags.

No,
the ticket is already lost when someone dies and can't be revieved. T
