I think that one of the reasons it is so under used is the fact that it has some very unrealistic attributes. firstly, when you hop on a dirtbike you expect it to be able to get over... Dirt. the collision meshes, along with the spring handling just dont work atm, if you get up some decent speed and go over the tinyest bump the thing will receive huge damage, rendering it a bit useless. secondly, there is a lack of them in some maps, kashan for example, 1 for each team isnt generous enough and it doesnt respawn.
Also the current handling is far from realistic. i do realise that it is currently a four wheel vehicle based on the quadbike and i have also heard that the Bf2 engine does not support 2-wheeled vehicles but i have to disagree with this. I suggest basing the handling system on some of a jets controls (mabe with that strange auto turning while banking already existant in the blackhawk chopper). ie using banking for cornering etc with modifications. you can use either 2 wheels or four very close together. Put its centre of gravity below where the wheels touch the ground so it rights itself. Also for lower speeds you could mabe have a secondary control system like the taxi-ing jet.
I realise this is a low priority problem so I will try to do all this myself as soon as i have finnished Downloading 3dsm so i can change wheel positions and collision meshes. Although, i am very inexperienced with both the bf2 editor and 3dsm so i will probably fail. if anyone can point me in the direction of some usefull tutorials i will be gratefull.
In the short term, fix colision meshes and damage system, and add more to some maps then ill be happy.
