Voip - Talk To Me!!!!

Post by gnwbumblino »

Ok, just a quick question - why dont people use the integrated BF2 VOIP????

It's an awesome tool, the best games I've had on BF2 have been where people have been TALKING to each other.

It happens now and again in PRMM, but even on the .02 launch I was in the same squad as Requiem - and even he wasnt talking...

A good headset can cost as little as £10/15....
GO FORTH AND PURCHASE SOLDIERS!!!!!!!!!

Hope to TALK to you soon!!!!!!

I'm having problems. When somebody talks all my other sounds are muted by a certain amount and the only thing i can hear clearly is the voice of this person. So i turned it off.

That's frustrating.... have you tried updating your soundcard drivers?

Mine seems to work ok without too many glitches.

My SB isnt supported anymore.

And i don't want to get a new one because i am having some mike/speaker related problems ( softwarewise ) I can't boost the mike enough so my mates can hear me, strangely enough the new Terratec 5.1 i bought a while ago works better with my nices older comp.

I'm thinking of buying the SB X-Fi, just waiting for the prices to fall a bit.

Thats nothing linked to your soundcard, thats delibrate. It's so that you can hear them more clearly. In UT2004, you could tweak how much this was, but for BF2, I dont know if you can, and whether it would cause any PunkBuster issues.

I pretty much always use it, seems to add an even deeper communication level to the game, which is great.

The only thing that's annoying is when someone never shuts up on it, you can't hear a damned thing apart from someone blabbing on about what they had for tea, or whatnot...

So long as someone's using it, sure as hell I'll be using it, especially since my crappy PC doesn't encourage me to try using TS alongside BF2.

I use VOIP when my parents and siblings aren't around
