New forum look

Post by nicoX »

Please keep the rank. Waste the RSS spam, it got an annoying look. User CP works just fine.

I like some of the new forum tools and look but miss the ranks and country. I had the ranks show up yesterday for a bit but now there gone.

Yeah looks a bit cleaner I'll admit. I really can't imagine the use of RSS feeds though to a forum like this.

RSS feeds are great.
I use Firefox and I have a few RSS bookmarks set up to keep track of forum activities.
One click on an active bookmark and you get a list of all the updated threads.
Marvelous.

The loss of location... So what? Most people just enter something silly like "B3h1nD yo 455" or something equally crappy. No big loss.
Now if they could just lose the postcount as well.....

Not to mention start cracking down on forum signatures that are so off limits it's almost ridiculous.
Yeah, there are a few and I believe you know who you are.

I would make the RSS icons greyscale. Currently I think they overwhelm the forum design, as they are the only colour around.

I would imagine that there is some incentive to have the sponsors. Perhaps to help offset some costs. If that is the case I have no problems with them as they blend in nicely.

I would like to see the location listed as I think it will help keep some grammar flamming down. People posting from countries where english is not native could get some harsh feed back on the wording of their posts.

Or they are paying the bills. PR is free for us, it costs the Devs money. I can handle a little non-invasive advertising if it helps the Devs keep PR going.

I can (handle) it if it's on the bottom of the page.
