Please make the Little Bird behave more like the other choppers.

Post by unrealalex »

I've been practicing, and practicing. I can fly every chopper perfectly fine now, but the Little Bird is just too sensitive it seems. I always crash it whatever I do. I fly safe, I land normally, everything is great, as soon as I touch land- BAM it starts to roll, and I usually die if I dont take off right away. I dont know if it's my joystick or what... I always make sure I'm landing softly, that the LB is leveled..and it still happens. I realize the solution is to hover and not land but thats not how it should work.
I can fly the MEC chopper equivalent great, it does not have the rolling problem, nor does the blackhawk or the merlin...
Would it be so bad to make it behave like the MEC equivalent?
I KNOW for 100%, I'm not the only one having this problem.

NEVER!!!

Seriously though the LB is great. Just practice a bit more with it and you will learn to love it. I think part of the problem is your using a joystick. as BF2 was not made with joysticks in mind. The keyboard and mouse work perfectly for me with all the choppers.

Of course Bf2 is made to fly with joysticks...look at plane pilots, you think the good ones use keyboard/mouse?
My problem is that it rolls over :(

I do know some good plane pilots that use mouse and keyboard controls. All i'm saying is give it chance for choppers. Its much much easier IMO.

I use it for the cruise control (Gas pedal thingy). Much easier to fly a heli when you don't have to worry about hitting 'w' all the time.
It comes down to whichever you like best yourself.

The landing/rolling problem is when you land on not 100% level ground, well you don't even have to land, just touch the ground for a splitsecond and it rolls.

And he LB is by far the easiest helicopter to fly, I wish the others would be more like that :(

agreed...LB is still too rolly ...dont knwo what it is like is RL...BUT it might be that tippy...it is doable though and the ability to fly the LB well certainly pays off on maps like Jabal(still LB on it right)

we will have alot more transport heli intensive maps coming down the pipe so i suggest any real pilots to get ready....

of course any suggestions are welcome but I suggest you give us a little more than "the LB is hard to fly" can you detail more precisly what is difficult?

cheers...

I dont have this problem ... i cant land the LB quick and safe without any rolling. You just have to fly with the nose towards the ground and then near the ground put the nose up and press a few times "s". Duno hold the "s" button pressed otherwise you'll roll on the grund like a dog ! ;-)

I have no problem flying under bridges on Kyongan Ni and w/e, but landing on slightly unlevel ground=fail

LB is fine, however the PLA light utility helicotper is one of the worst in game

Littlebird is perfect - all the others suck. :)
I love the LB esp. the one with Hydras to it - with that I'll take out any attackhelo...
btw -> Qwai River. I'd rather have a chinese transport helo than this horrible "attack" chopper.
It flys like a piece 'o shit and does not really do any good in transporting (I love landing it :D )

Hmm the LB is my favorite chopper when it comes to behavior.
Maybe its too sensitive when using a joystick, but with mouse and keyboard its fine.

I hear the exact oposite from some players -- that the Chinese utility chopper thing is great and the LB is poor. IMO both are fine, but the MEC one is nose heavy as HELL.

The littlebird is fine as is. It's actually my preferred helo for troop transport as I can get it on the ground a hell of a lot faster than the damn BH.

I absolutely love the LB, just don't try landing with it.

Funny...I think the LB handles the most like Vanilla choppers....I can use the rudder at higher speeds and do some side strafing with it. I just spent a couple of hours on Kashan just piloting different Choppers and stuff. The LB definitely the most menuverable\forgiving. The extra rudder allows you to correct many mistakes if you are a decent pilot but mess up.

The LB is wobbly when I fly it. When I slow down to a hover, or try to land, it wobbles all over the place, and then no matter how small a correction I make, it turn into a major overcorrection.
