Firing from drivers seat with your weapon?

Post by Ecko »

Could this be possible at all? Even if it means jerry rigging a mounted standard weapon?

...
Not whilst driving :P
But when pulled up... It's common practice for the british army using a jeep. 2 support gunners and the driver uses his SA80...

Anyone read Black Hawk Down? There are accounts of the drivers firing their weapons and driving at the same time. I'm not condoning the suggestion, just saying there have been real life instances.

Hehe, reminds me of a funny radio-excerpt from Saints Row..."back in the past, you had the driver, and the shooter. Nowadays, you will often find that the person who does the driving does the shooting too. Therefore, I propose that we make drive-by shootings part of the things to learn in driving school, to avoid innocent casualties.

Also, no. The driver is supposed to drive, not shoot.

Well if it was in BHD, PR has to have it, cause PR is all about realism!

I did hear that the drivers of Humvees fire their weapons while under attack. They were training and they did that. He had his left hand on the wheel and right hand on his rifle to fire out his window. Basically his rifle was just resting on the sill of the window door.

The books more accurate than the film Vikingo.

I very much doubt this will ever happen though.

When I'm behind the wheel my vehicle becomes my weapon.

While they "may" have been firing out the window I highly doubt they were able to aim, let alone hit anything. I'm sure you could make your own mod with it though. Grand Theft Auto: Baghdad Blues?

Yea someone told me about that story about this man in WWII who pwned 4 Tigers while driving a Willy Jeep with one foot on the wheel, the other on the acelerator, one hand reloading the bazuka and the other firing and so.

Must be fake I think.

Edit: to make my post more useful, I think it's not a good idea. I mean, must be DAMN hard to keep driving good while shooting.

Now that I'd like to see implemented.

I know the Land Rovers have fixed weapons in position 2 but I mean being able to fire out of the HMMWV or a Vodnik position 2.

I hear the words "BF2 Engine Restriction" coming though :D

Yup, go into the sixth position of the Nanjiang and you can use your weapons to fire out the windshield and right side window. The the line of fire/field of view are both limited since you can't fire your weapon all the way out the right window.
