Explosions
Hey,
I have been playing pr alot latley and I always make ieds and put them on roads.
But heres the thing, It seems that the explosions are not that all realistic. I mean, ill have 2 sticks of c4 on the sides of a road and and apc will drive by. When it blows up all I really here is that vbf2 "puff" and thats it. You devs can make this so much more realistic sounding.
here is a video
warnig this is a suicide bombing on youtube, if you to imature to watch it DONT:
But listen to the SHEER power of the blast, this is what it NEEDS to sound like in .7 people...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZc0LrmWI7g
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0ZFWPvH ... ed&search=
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6pykPS3 ... ed&search=
Now, one of the first things you devs did was make it so when a m1a2 fire its massive round, a huge plum of dust billows from the ground from the blast. This ALSO needs to be done to the C4, LANDMINES, and at rockes maybe. In the 3rd video, look at how much dust is created by the IED. This should be done in .7
In conclusion:
Make sounds more intense
and create more dust that incircles the area of that blast from the shockwave.
I hope you guys really take this post seriously and take it into consideration so you guys can make this great game even better thank you.

I'll weigh in a few points as a non-combat experienced civilian:
1) These are car bombs. Which means they aren't the 5-10lb explosive packs carried by one individual and set on the road (like in PR). They're 200-300lbs of explosive that are possibly encased in something that will compound the force and create deadly shrapnel. Comparing a carbomb in these videos to a handheld explosive in PR is comparing apples to oranges. Entirely different objects.
2) That fireball and visual explosion means nothing in terms of lethality. I can create a massive fireball petrol bomb in my driveway that singes our eyebrows but APPEARS incredible. Then we could construct a 4" pipebomb that won't make much of an explosion at all, but we'd wind up shredded and my house filled with shrapnel.

I'll bet you your ear drums that those c4 packs are loud enough to shrivel your testicals...vanity wrote:I'll weigh in a few points as a non-combat experienced civilian:

Yeah, that means, that our jihad car should have the 500 Lb bomb from jets instead of the C4 in the back?vanity wrote: 1) These are car bombs. Well for one your post is not relevant becuase i have a videoon there of an IED WICH IS IN PR and has a LOUD blast and a big DUST PLUM. YOu guys did it with tanks, why cant you make the c4 explosions realistic? The IED in the video depics a LOUDER noise and more dust. But you are now saying that becuase a 200 lb bomb is really loud c4 cant be just loud. The explosions doesnt sound like an explosions at all, it sounds like some form of pressure release more then a compact substance instantly turning into air thus sending a penetrating shockwave
The c4 in pr is the EXACT SAME as vbf2. Lets try to make it a little more powerfull, more dust and louder noise. Its underpowerd, it looks and sounds fake...period

Why do people argue for the sake of arguing? Besides the fact that your second point is pointless, do you honestly think that the IED explosions in-game are realistic?vanity wrote:I'll weigh in a few points as a non-combat experienced civilian:

FYI, Composition-4 (C4) is primarily used by Explosive Ordinance Disposal teams to destroy weapon caches. The other use is using small C4 charges to blow open doors/locks. C4 as far as I know NOT used as an offensive weapon.

And congratulations, you have a big truck filled with s-t!dunehunter wrote:Yeah, just fill a truck with that stuff. Then move a couple of miles back, and put it in earplugs.
Seriously, it takes a spot more than that to get the stuff going. The other big component is sugar (preferably icing sugar as the higher-surface-area-to-crystal-volume ratio makes it burn quicker), and you still need some military-grade explosive along with the required detonators for it, to get the lot going off at the required time.
Fertilizer bombs are a lot harder to make (safely and reliably) than most people think.
