So, once again ANOTHER problem has arisen. I found the reason why new objects are not showing up. Turns out, they are no longer getting saved.
Well, they are getting saved into here: location #1
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr_edit_06\levels\Black_Hawk_Down\Editor\gameplayobjects.con
but NOT anywhere else. As in ALL the folders/playersizes in here: Location #2
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr_edit_06\levels\Black_Hawk_Down\GameModes
So, whats happening now, is that in the editor, it reads everything new that I have placed. Because, as far as I understand, it is reading from the First location. However, once I go in game, since it is NOT saving into location 2 (and, judging by its last modified date, it hasnt saved in location 2 since aug 12th give or take) NO new object spawners appear in my map. Even if I change an objectSpawners location, it does NOT change locations in game. It changes it in the editor, but thats it.
I have tried saving and ticking EVERY box to save, and no good. I deleted my whole Airport CP and remade it, still nothing. The Location 2 still reads the old Airport CP name and objects.
Whats wrong!?!?!?
Why is all this happening to me!?
If you need more info, please ask!
ps I cant just paste the editors gameplayobjects.con file into the other locations because it makes it crash. I have worked on this problem ALL day and havent gotten anywhere aside from finding out that its not saving. :'(
I renamed the old gameplay folder and saved again, hoping it would see that this folder was missing, and then make a new one using all the new objects and locations, but still, nothing. It just doesnt even DEAL with that folder anymore... how can I get it to care about this folder!!??
:'(

i packed the map and it still doesnt work. and when i pace the editor's version in all the game modes folders, it crashes the map on load.
i mean, i COULD go though and only add in the vehicles I added in both the two places it places them in the text file, but that could become a terrible pain... ill look into it...
im just wondering what stopped them from updating during saves in the editor...

Re: [Help!] Gameplayobjects.con not updating/saving
Yes, can't seem to change it either, access denied even as admin. Although I did just find a console command to change the folder's permissions by hand. Didn't know if there was any easier way to do this or if I'll have to resort to that. No big deal if that's the only way I suppose.
Edit: That being said, all folders are "Read Only", though I don't have any issues exporting models or placing static objects on maps. Those work just fine, just not anything that spawns (let's say a tank, for example).
EDITEDIT: So I whipped up a quick C# program that parses out all of the (In this case, 64 layer) objects from the map's GameplayObjects.con file and places them in a new file. Seems to work fine when I place it in the layer-specific GameModes folder. Definitely a short term fix but at least it works
