PR constantly crashing.
I am new to these forums, but I am no noob to PR. I have been playing PR for a while now. I noticed that in earlier versions of PR, inlcuding the latest version, that PR constantly crashes and goes to the desktop when I start a game, join a server, or even when I'm in mid-game. Can anyone help? Or explain the problem at least? Thanks.

And what makes you think your problem and the one being discussed is the same?
The reason why your PR crashes could be totally different.
So, give us some details and preferably an error message such as Forget_Me posted above.
Have you updated your PR? You say you have used the same download for a month or maybe 2, but PR.061 was released on the 19:th of September.

Assuming that you followed the installation instructions to the letter (vBF2 -vanilla or original BF2-, then vBF2 1.41 patch, then PRM 0.61 Full Client or 0.6 + 0.6 incremental patch) make sure that punkbuster is updated (you must do it manually by downloading pbsetup.exe).
Also, make sure that PnkBstrA.exe (or B) is up and running (Ctrl+Alt+Del for Task manager and go to the Processes Tab). You will get kicked from servers if this is not running or not up-to-date.
If by some case you did not follow installation instructions closely, you can re-install vBF2 completely and give it another try. If everything was working fine and it suddenly became 'corrupted' you should beware of a possible Hard Disk failure in the not-so-distant future (bad sectors or something), which is also another possibility.
Another thing you can try (to check for error messages) is to run PR in windowed mode. For this, you right-click -> properties in the PR desktop shortcut. Go to the target textbox and change +fullscreen 1 to +fullscreen 0 and click appply and then ok. Reverse the change to get back everything to normal fullscreen mode.
Try running the mod, and if it crashes, there's a chance that you can see an error message pop up. If you do, post again.
