Cease fire / hold fire button, with 3d map icon
Hey, did search couldnt find anything and it's already late.
But..
As flanking always ends up in getting teamkilled, or having a teammate firing on you at 200+m away, it may be nice to have an option to say;
- 'Cease fire!' when a friendly unit is firing on you, with an icon apearing on everyones (team) 3d map to stop firing at your position.
- 'Hold your fire!' when you're flanking an enemy squad. A 3d map icon apearing.
- 'Attention!' when you're about to flank an enemy squad, creating an 3d map icon telling your team to double-check for friendlies before firing.
- '....' when .....
Maybe something like the squadleader's tactic-markers system or something, well I'm not a mod. so I don't know if it's even possible.
Would be compared to RL radio communication, but since we can't have that in Bf2/PR...

if you fire at a squadmate and hurt him enough, he will say "cease your fire". thats how i tell the new skins apart lol. shoot at everything and then when i hear that, stop.
in all seriousness though "stop" is a popular suggestion. cease fire might also be useful for a sl.

I think simply a "stop" button on the comrose should be added. people always complain about not being able to tell the driver to stop a vehicle, or stop shooting, or stop moving around, etc.
there is a "go go go" button, so why not a stop?

Friedly fire accidents are the part of the war. It happens in reality and it will happen in game, no matter what kind of warning systems are implemented. People make mistakes, and those mistakes are the reasons why friendly fire accidents occur.

...but in reality when you shoot a member of your own "team", they usually will tell you. yeah if you headshot someone no warning is going to help, but i think this could be a really cool teamplay building feature.Ragni<RangersPL> wrote:Friedly fire accidents are the part of the war. I also think that "Cease fire / hold fire button" would be very nice feature, but all I wanted to say is that there always will be some players who prefer to shot first and think later.hoc_xfirestormx wrote:...but in reality when you shoot a member of your own "team", they usually will tell you. yeah if you headshot someone no warning is going to help, but i think this could be a really cool teamplay building feature.
Usually, when I'm not sure who is my target, I take a quick look on a minimap to be sure. Some players don't do it very often.

Yep, but I hope with removing the scoreboard, you remove the ''NEED KILLZ'' feeling, and with that I hope people will first double check for possible friendlies before engaging.Ragni<RangersPL> wrote:I also think that "Cease fire / hold fire button" would be very nice feature, but all I wanted to say is that there always will be some players who prefer to shot first and think later.
Right now you can first try to spot, but since that funtion doesn't work properly, there isn't much you can do right now.

Commo roses are fine to improve, but usually if you are on VOIP, if you have some people who can at least listen to you, even if they can't respond they will respond to some good leadership (i.e. plans that work and pay off).
Getting your squad to "hold fire, or only fire if fired upon at close range, or disengage and move to x" will usually get some response from decent players.
VOIP for issuing commands and keep the comms rose for "functionality" such as requesting supplies, perhaps a request supplies to your SL would be good too. But "stop vehicle" is a good one

I ment the rest of your team, not your squad.Darkpowder wrote:Commo roses are fine to improve, but usually if you are on VOIP, if you have some people who can at least listen to you, even if they can't respond they will respond to some good leadership (i.e. plans that work and pay off).

HAha yea, I just quit playin at the end of a round right now because I was killed and shot at more by my own team than the enemy ... and if that's what it's like in real life, god speed to everyone.Ragni<RangersPL> wrote:Friedly fire accidents are the part of the war. But since the radio commands work at a certain distance, is there a way to change it for certain commands? Or its all or none? This way you can get a sound that says ceasefire. Sometimes you need that audio when you're in the moment.
Sigless.
