Spec Ops Rifles
are there any plans to either change the weaponry of PLA/MEC SF or add optics to each class, to even out between USMC?
I have noticed that almost everyone who plays PR loves optics of any kind.
I also notice that on PLA/MEC maps, SF hardly ever gets played by those factions, however many more people play SF on a USMC map.

It would be wise to change the PLA SF gun for realism sake.
the Chinese special forces do not use the QBZ95B, they use either the standard QBZ95 or the QBZ03.
Some pictures of QBZ03 in use:

In real life, the AR-15 is accurate, lo recoil but is quite weak, so the US army issues M68s for balance

Spec-Ops will be limited in 0.7. However, since it's a limited kit you'll maintain the body armor you spawn with. This mod isn't aimed specifically towards special forces and the role they play in warfare. The idea is to make Spec-Ops a kit that you wil use like it supposed to be relative to the PR world. Something along the likes of avoiding large firefights to destroy enemy commander assets.'[uBp wrote:Irish;493899']offtopic but can someone point me to the thread where there was talking about making Spec Ops a limited? cause i still dont see the full reasoning.

No way am I going up in CQB against the G3 with the M16 on single shot, although long/maybe medium ranges yes.Heliocentric wrote:singleshot FTW!

the bigger zoom on the M16 does not help, the recoil just mucks it up
thats probably one of the reason y the M4 is popular, other than everyone thinks it still has the low recoil like it had back in 0.4/0.5

Um yes. But never the less, I don´t like the M16 at the moment, because of the 3 round burst.

It would be nice to see silenced rifle and pistol for Spec Ops (or at least one of them). Spec Ops doesn't have any body armour so that solution could increase its concealment.
What do you think about that?

really sorry for going off track so i'll mention "give spec ops the scar"[R-DEV]Jaymz wrote:Spec-Ops will be limited in 0.7. but wrt jaymez, is the kit going to be unlimited request like crewman/pilot? or going to be limited to say... 5 per team like the gren/light at kits?
i can remember playing in alot of squads that were spec ops only doing small man tactics in the backfield before, but if it's going to have limitations on it per team/per squad.. it might just screw it up a little more no?

Spec-ops really do need some kind of overhaul to their weapons, IMO and lots of others it seems, mainly due to them becoming limited.
I know everybody doesn't want 1337 spec-ops running around thinking they can take on anyone but at least be able to perform simple functions such as infiltrating enemy lines to disrupt enemy comms. or structures, without being easily gunned down if they encounter any simple lonewolf rifleman. These guys are supposed to be the best of the best? Yes, if this were true in the mod, it would be the whole 1337 Spec-ops argument again plus as dbzao pointed out, not what the mod team is trying to produce in terms of gameplay.
Right now, unless you have a specific 'nack' with one of the weapons, the MEC and PLA Spec ops weapons are pretty much useless. The M4 and British M4 varient are adequate if not, only useful in CQB IMO. Spec-Ops shouldn't be useful only for CQB, like they are right now.
I propose using a VSS Vintorez or AS Val as MEC Spec-ops for a few reasons.
-MEC is fictional so there is no specific standard imposed.
-Both are Silenced and would give the MEC Spec-Ops a good weapon to get behind enemy forces AND take out enemies silently if they encounter any.
-Although the VSS is considered a sniper rifle its Operating Range is 400m, I don't see this as too much or that it would be detrimental to gameplay.
- AS Val has an effective range of 300m, less than the standard for assault rifles in-game at the moment.
-Guns are in use by Spetsnaz and many other Russian Military units, Why would a MEC force, not purchase or "obtain" these from the Russian Rebels who, in the game are supplying them with weapons.
As for PLA, I'm not too sure, but currently the PLA Special Forces use the QSZ92 silenced and Type 85 silenced sub-machine gun. This would make very little change to gameplay though.
Sorry if I sound disrespectful or that I have a blurred vision of my own self-importance throughout this post, i have the highest respect for the MOD Team :]
Anyone agree? Disagree?
