I want to know if anyone is thinking to implement another mod besides the CONQUEST and INSURGENCY, like SEARCH & DESTROY -to add something more objective"defend, attack(destroy)" based, because CONQ. and INSU. get sometimes boring......???

for a start, there is no "conquest" in PR, there is how ever AAS which is using the "gpm_cq" name just so BF2 dose not get overly confused by the fact its default game mode is missing. Also we do have the xtract game mode in PR which is not working in .6 / .61
"Search & Destroy" was in fact a tactic used in the Vietnam war that didn't work out too well for the US. Basically it was the Air Cav that went in once the enemy was roughly located and try and destroy them with very little intel etc.
from your very brief discretion I take it you mean a objective game mode where you need to destroy, defend objectives like bridges etc. There is a game mode like this under development and has been for some time, just that the game mode code itself is very complicated and its hard to say when it will be competed. Operation Ghost Train was partly made for this game mode.
Next time, try not to use caps lock too much and put more into your disruptions of what you are trying to suggest, as well as many do some research....

I figured as much, BF2 is rather touchy at times. One problem with a S&C game mode is that you have to first think "What is it that is worth destroying, keeping in mind that you want to deny the enemy resources and safe havens, but also you don't want too much collateral damage if you can help it", and then you have to code that. Think about how much stuff there is on Basrah that could be labeled "Enemy material". You'd have to flatten the whole F-ing city, for crying out loud. Plus, what happens when you take out the wrong thing? Public Opinion will tear you a new one, just like if you kill a civvy. Same thing, really. So you'd basically have a game mode like insurgency where the intel you acquire goes towards discovering enemy hideouts and strategic locations like vehicles as well as ammo dumps, and you could have some sort of system where if you take out the wrong target, or even the right target under the wrong conditions, say a Mosque that is being used as an ammo dump but you don't have intel on it and you blow it up, well, people would kinda be pissed that you blew up a Mosque. So you'd have to have some sort of 'PR' system that tracked your progress, and if you blew up too much good stuff, you lost the match.
I realize I'm rambling, and I apologize for the run-on paragraph, but I just had to let the ideas flow.

ehhh no, if you run over a ammo dump you dont just "pass it by", you would if you could, radio back to base and report it, then deal with it if necessary, I think the awnser would always be destroy it, or secure it and which in our case is destroy it.Jonny wrote:Hang on, that sounds like an addition to insurgency maps.
You can only LEGALLY destroy ammo dumps which have been spotted out by the intel thing, so you loose tickets for destruction without intel. You could also 'spot' them to gain about 1/2 the intel to reveal one.
