Can't Reload when Moving

Post by Reddish Red »

I Would like to know if theres some way of preventing people from Reloading when there Moving for Certain Weapons, I'm talking about Heavy Machinguns etc that you shouden't be able to reload whilst on the move, Assualt Rifles are okay (Except SKS) Snipers maybye.. just depends on what one.

Is there anyway of doing this?

I fully support this idea (and suggested it before).
Would be interesting to know if it could be done though.

What walking? You mean the ironsight mode?

Well, since the game engine doesn't let you keep mags that you reload in place of, it is kind of suggesting you are wasteful and thrown them on the floor and not careful place in your webbing and clip down. The big issue is whether after throwing your clip away (containing rounds or not) you start losing mags from your pouches after you have opened them to get a fresh clip and couldn't button it down on the run (I could never manage to!)

This means any weapon with a magazine should be loadable on the run by a trained soldier really, except for heavy/cumbersome weapons of course, unless anyone knows if a SAW or equivalent can be reloaded on the run?

Walking = W,S,A,D.
Running = W + Shift (sprint)

I'm not talking about Rifles, I'm talking about all of the Machinguns, the SKS, Mosin Sniper etc.

I know that a Trained Soldier can reload a Rifle pritty easily whilst on the move, Oh I treat W-A-S-D as Running, Shift is Sprinting.. the only walking is in Ironsights mode

I think this is a very good idea.
I know this is going to be 99% hardcoded, but what about, instead of disallowing you to move, only limit your speed ?

Take a stick, hold it like a gun, and run sideways.
Make a video "how to run sideways" :razz:

Try to strife with the speed of running man and you will see what i mean.
(Run, not fast walk but run, minimum 20 km/h)

Perhaps they're just all very familiar with the art of Ballet, as well as their basic military training. ;-)

I don't think the soldiers are running anywhere near 20KMs per hour when simply jogging in game. You can run sideways with the right technique, just not as fast. Same thing with running backwards. Stop being so technical!
