M60E4 kicks more butt!
That guy in the video fired 850 rounds without stopping!
It can fire 15,000 rounds before the barrel needs to be changed
It fires 7.62mm rounds.
M60E4 > M249

They're both currently employed. Depends on who's doing what. I want one of these when they come out. Long live HK. http://hkpro.com/mg43.htm

The Mk-43 LMG is a variant of the M60E4 made for the SEALs. However, the Mk-43 is being phased out by the Mk-48 LMG and the M60E4 has not been adopted by any other US branch of service. It is not likely to be seen in the mod.
That's what we're concentrating on at the moment, yes, but there will be additional equipment and player models for US forces as well as opposition forces.Eden wrote:One thing to keep in mind is this mod is going towards creating the British army and I think that's what there all concentrating on.

That's all it would be. the .308 round fired by the M-60E4 wouldn't make much difference in game, seeing as its damage would be counter acted by the rapid fire fragmentation of the .223 (5.56). The real advantages of the round really can't be portrayed ingame, seeing that .308 is a lot more useful for tearing up barriers and somewhat thin walls.'[R-PUB wrote:Poofyfinger']Isn't this just an M249 SAW replacement?

@ Eddie Baker I know, I know. I meant I want one in real life. I don't expect any new models in game. You guys have your hands full as it is. I am very much looking forward to using British forces.

Was addressing Cerberus about the Mk-43/M60E4, not the H&K MG43 you posted about.'[R-PUB wrote:Lifetaker']I know, I know. I meant I want one in real life. I don't expect any new models in game. You guys have your hands full as it is. I am very much looking forward to using British forces.

Nah, the M240 weighs like 40 pounds. It's really more of an emplacement or vehicle mounted weapon. Really, it's not any more unrealistic than running around with the PKM. The PR team has removed that element, though. Kudos. As much as I used it, it was really more for fun, cause it was pretty ineffective.

i'm wondering if the M60 in the video was causing the guy to fire more round from the recoil it looked like he couldn't stop fireing.
Harrod200:"Fire.exe has committed an illegal operation and has been shut down"
Raniak : "Warning: May crash if fired upon."

Well there's videos of some idiots in Iraq running around with them firing from the hip. The Russians and Chechens used them too, but more effectively in the squad role.'[R-PUB wrote:Lifetaker']Nah, the M240 weighs like 40 pounds. Are you refereing to the PKM? Sure, any grown man can run around with 30+ pounds of gun and fire it from the hip, but will you hit anything? Probably not what you're shooting at. Someone posted a vid a while back with some Liberians doing the same thing, to the same effect.
