healt and repair bar

Post by 77SiCaRiO77 »

dont you think that an engenier or a medic should know how much a vehicle is damage/a soldier is injured in real life?

and engenier can see how much damage took a vehicle , and a medic can see where the soldier was hited to know if he is badly damge ,etc .

so, my sugestion to back the bar of health/repair to the hud of an engenier/medic .

Theres a difference between knowing how hurt you are, and knowing you are exactly 50% from death, or 78% :P

good idea. But only if u are very close to the vehicle/person. But... its already kinda there. Vehicles are smoking, the worse they do the worse they are damaged. And almost dynamical damage system is implemented. If it cant drive its heavily damaged. Experienced engeener can tell, not precisly, but its always somethin. And medics if wounded helth goes down below 50% I think... correct me if Im wrong the health bar appears above his head. My opinion handy idea, but not necessary.

If you look really closely, you can still see the health/repair bars being refilled. Just look for the slight change in color/volume in the bar; if you're looking hard enough, you'll see it. :-o

And what comes to damage system, it doesnt work. In .5 release we could see disabled tanks&stuff almost everywhere, now it rarely happens, if ever. Tanks and APC's are destroyed instantly.

Or has anyone seen disabled vehicle lately?
i was in the warrior with a turret that wouldnt move...or was it a bug?

The bars were taken out because they were way too unrealistic. When you're in a vehicle, it's not that hard to tell how badly damaged you are (hint: smoke=bad), and as infantry, it's not that badly needed either. Not bleeding means you're ok-ish, bleeding only means that you'll live for a bit longer, and when you get the blurry thing, you're in bad need of a medic. Just let the squad medic (if you have one) know how badly injured you are, and he can do triage that way.

well yea , maybe for medics its a bit useless the informtaion of how much time you will espend in healthing(<-?) someone , but for engeniers that are repairing vehicles or a destroyed AA or even for soldiers that are building a bunker is usefull , because those things took more time and you will know how much time is need to finish your job and if is safe to continiung repairing/building , etc .

and is realistic becasue you should know how much time is requiered to build a bunker/sandbag or repair or health.

[With the health and armour bars] it's not like you can really tell how far something's come along anyway unless you look very close, but maybe that's just my imagination that the bars filling up... anyway if it does, then to an extent it simulates how much attention you'd have to pay to something like repairing a tank or healing someone, to see how far along you were.
