Different pick-up locations with every new release

Post by jakeobryan »

Hello community

Would it be possible to change the hidden weapon pickup locations with every new PR-release? It makes more fun to look out for pickup weapons and be one of the first who knows their location 8-) . Right now it's annoying because every kid wants them guns (especially M82 and M95) and it seems that most people know these stashes. Its too easy to camp at a certain spot and kill inbound enemies getting the gun...
I presume it is too hard either to swap pickup-locations at every new round but that would be REALLY cool :D

yours sincerely,

It is possible. What needs to be done is some sort of intricate spawn system like the UFO in PoE as well as making the pickups less inviting (eg Mk12: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showpo ... ostcount=6). BTW welcome to the forums.

Edit: having a insurgent style cache with an pickup kit sounds interesting!

Easter eggs. Pickup kits just happen to be one form of them

Yeah you're absolutely right. But like nedlands1 said, they simply exist now and it would be a bad decision to remove them. It makes PR more interesting.

I would appreciate if pickup kits were not on specific stashes though just lay in the forest or something.

I think this is already what the devs are doing.

Also I agree with Bosco on this one, and imho the .50 sniperrifles should be taken out.

Yep, if I remember correctly, the devs have been changing pick up kits with every new release and patch. Not sure about patch though. Let's just scrap all the easter egg pick up kits all together

No they really shouldnt be removed...
If they were made a pickup kit with only 1 on each team that would be quality...i dont see the problem with that

I don't think the easter egg kits have any positive effect on gameplay, i think our best bet for easter eggs would be hidden insurgent vehicles in "tunnels" (covered by a building or something) or maybe secret places like on OGT, i think everyone can enjoy those rather than ONE kit that only ONE noob can grab and take out an entire squad that is operating without knowledge that there is an M82.

i give secret kits a thumbs down.

Yes i think they should be randomized more, but make it near to impossible
to get to it. Like having to walk up nonwalkable terrain spare a path 1 cm wide.

This will make people realize what they are doing, all the trouble for a kit eh....

Will get more ppl not bothering with the pickups and focusing on gameplay.

I think easter eggs are a great idea. Its the dev's way of putting a little special something in that connects them to their work, and a nice treat for those who discover them. However, in the case of the .50 cal snipers, it not only discourages teamwork (people racing to find them/fight over them) but also defeats the point of having limited kits. I know the .50 cal on one map spawns several times, and have seen squads with 3 .50 cals. While I think it is ultimately the dev's decision if they put them in or not, I feel that they should look at what they are doing to the gameplay in this mod.

On a personal note, I would hope that the hidden sniper kits are removed. It really kills your gameplay experience when you get rushed by an American soldier blazing away with Ambiko SMG's.

People care too much about easter eggs. It may be a hidden pickup kit but that doesn't exclude other types of egg. If the devs made a hidden easter egg vehicle then there would be threads popping up all over the place about it.

The noob would learn this drawback and exploit it by getting his other n00b friend to fly him around over the heads of his enemies while he shoots as many nades as he wants as fast as he can click.
