League: Need candidates for platoon leader and officers

For the league. We (visaya and I) feel it's best that we acquire some candidates for the platoon leader and officer role, first. We want to start off with the officer stratus first, because we want them to learn the ropes of how a league works and how the chain of command works. By gaining this knowledge, they can independently recruit a squad of their own to their liking. While all of this is happening, visaya and I are going to ask people with extensive knowledge of the military and military tactics of squad level tactics, mode of movement, and formations. When we have this information, the squad leaders that have been elected will use this information and pass it down to their squad, and then train with them on empty servers against other squads, in a scrimage-like fashion. Also, a side note, squads will be analagous

When concerning the platoon leader, we only need two for the league, but many can apply, and we will pick substitutes just in case some cannot make it for weekly matches. I think if you write a short paragraph on yourself, we can make a vote on whose campaign sounds more appealing for the two platoon leader roles, or we can pick based on some other condition.

Later on, of course, every role will be filled. But for now, the platoon leader and squad leader is core.

What this is, is basically decentralization of operation. We first want people to be able to carry out the league's principles and ideas from the platoon leader position and down to the squad leader position; from there, it's all up to them to train and fully acquaint themselves with their squad members. Developing battlefield brotherhood would be nice too!

So, for those of you wishing to fill the platoon leader role, and feel that you have what it takes to satisfy this role, please say what you wish to be a candidate, and explain briefly what your beliefs and way of doing things are when concerning a possible position as PL.

The same goes for those applying for squad leader. But keep in mind, we need about 8 (+ 2 substitutes, and these subs can cycle in games every other week, so they get a chance to play) squad leaders officially selected and dedicated at the end: roughly 4 on Alpha team, and 4 on Bravo.

Let's get this rolling! All of this planning is exciting to me.

(By the way, I am not vesting power in myself or visaya, not at all, but we are just setting things up and working the logistic part of this league out. Actually, I think I just want to be a rifleman grunt or a tank gunner.)

With nothing set in stone, I would like to clarify that we won't just have one or two platoon leaders, squad leaders, etc. Most of the higher ranks will be somewhat limited to people we personally talk to or instruct, so that we are on the same level. These initial officers will actually contribute to how we want the rules set up, we are supplying the general basis for the league and relying on dedicated realistic members of the community to help us out with some of the things that can be changed.

Basically, we are trying to get applicants to apply to be Squad leaders for the first season to help us come up with league rules, train others and actually command their own squad which will consist of the same people where they can get to know their strengths and weaknesses.

NOTE: This is a call to all people interested in leading different parts of ground combat. We will be looking for drivers and pilots in a seperate thread in the near future. Thanks.

do you have some sort of application for those of us interested? I know myself and as well as Mike (the guy responsible for those awesome sounds in PRMM) have pretty indepth experience in leading squads as well as on up to divisional experience level.

If you want to apply for the position of squad leader or platoon leader I think it is best if you send a PM to Armand, including your contact information and some information about why you would like to fill the position in question, and include any previous experience with tournaments.

I think it should be voted. Some of us are tried and true squad leaders like Rg, and a few others. We should vote them in maybe a poll.

Id wait for PR to be launched before any league is started. The community will be large enough to sustain fun week after week.

I dont think there are enough people yet who play this mod more than vanilla.

There are only enough regulars to fill a 20man team at best, and getting a squad to roll with will be difficult as most already have people they like to play with.

I think this needs more time.

Well, you see, the idea is not to set this up for the current player base, but rather to prepare what can be prepared so they league is ready for business once PR comes out. At least that's what I made of it.
