Yeah he was from BF2s Special Forces expansion but due to the new rules released by EA we can't use him. IE we are no longer allowed to port stuff from other EA games into BF2/BF2142. Thats the law of the modding land.

Wrong, Gonwing
PR has been allowed to use SF Content. All insurgents are SF moddels, just like the pickups, the red truck and the Helicopters are taken form AF Xpak.
=> that is def. not the reason

The current insurgents all look the same. There used to be mec_heavy_soldier as a war vet and the SF one in 0.5 and it looked fine. There should be more insurgent classes just to have some diversity. Don't know why there aren't more classes already even though it is possible. Conventional armies may have 4 classes but insurgents should have more they are not ment to be equal to conventional forces.

That was acutally a MEC officer working with the Insurgents :P
I doubt that he'll come back though, only way I could imagine is him beeing the squad leader kit.

We already have an Ins Officer.
And I think, the Hamas faction is using the ski-mask soldier from SF.

Thats what they said, but Pr was started long before that statement and have gotten (written?) permission.

PR does however have permission, but it is a real rule.

i posted almost exactly the same thread as this about 2 weeks ago. i too was frustrated with how the insurgents all look the same now. but basically the devs said its not possible to put the ski mask insurgent back in or something.

Its not something PR goes around bragging about as the agreement is pretty informal. In the words of Eggman, we basically got a EA Project Manager drunk enough to give us permission at some Mod gathering.

Pity he wasn't drunk enough to give up the source code :P

However, it was shortly after that permission that egg gave his infamous "I got drunk on Thursday night and couldnt upload the test build" excuse.
