Even though he is using Black Hawk Down as a reference (which should never ever happen) he has a point... Why not? I think it is a valid suggestion and it would make interaction between air and ground forces easier.

"The men inside (the APC) might have been UN but they were playing by a completely different set of rules. They were Swedes; in terms of individual intelligence, integrity and single-mindedness I was to find them among the most impressive soldiers I had ever encountered. In Vares their moment had come."

its not just black hawk down references that annoy us, but call of duty 4 references REALLY annoy us.
anyway i think one problem with this is that IR beacons i believe only work at night. they are used in a nighttime map in COD4, and i believe in bhd the ir beacon is also used at night. i think that its too hot in the day for them to show up but i could be wrong. and in case you havent noticed we dont have much in the way of night maps in PR and the ones that we did have sucked anyway.

IR-Infra Red... It emmits Infra Red Light.. not insane amounts of heat... temperature would not be an issue... It's basically a grenade giving of really strong infra red flashes...charliegrs wrote:its not just black hawk down references that annoy us, but call of duty 4 references REALLY annoy us.

True, but the world is bathed with IR during the day, same as it is bathed with visible light. Strobe lights still work during the day (police car cherries) but are not as visible as during the night.Gyberg wrote:IR-Infra Red... Summary: IR beacons should work during the day, they will just not be as noticable.
