This is a pondering of whether we can have more crashes in PR (of the helicopter and jet kind, not the ctd kind :D )

All to often Ill be swooping around in a chopper or jet and I'll get shot at, if its a bad hit the rudder will go and the thing will vibrate, if its real bad then I'll just explode in mid air.

Is it possible to fiddle with the damage to make it so that for example when were being pounding by AA instead of just instantly exploding in the air and watching the chopper fall out of the sky we would feel the rotors failing, lose all control, OH TEH NOES!!111 *red lights flashing warning sounds* as more apc hits are landed on the chopper as it falls out of the sky you can hear the explosions tearing through then BANG! ground... and then you get your spectator cam spizzling around your crashed wreckage.

I guess I'm just saying that I think airbourne vehicles should become critcally damaged and therefore unairworthy far sooner than before they explode in the middle of the sky.

hopefully well see more pilots bailing out and needing rescue as theyre wounded behind enemy lines...

adding a ticket cost to the killing of a pilot by the enemy would also add incentive for the team to save their pilots behind enemy lines :P (no I havn't been watching the film lol)

aint going to read this topic fully cos i know what its going to be about just by looking at the first few lines...

we have got some code to make choppers, jets etc "spin out of control" etc, but there is a very small problem with it. It only works on local server.... :(

If you run a local server now, fly a blackhawk, apache or anything, hit a tree ever soo slighty, there is a % chance after reaching a HP that something in your chopper will go, and you know when it dose, you really do cos it spins out of control and all over the place until you crash :p

looks really cool from 3rd person too, can remember playing at rankys lan afew months ago and watching bondage hit a tree a little then go spinning out across the map with a huge trail of smoke.

But ye, problem is it only works on a local game and have found no way to get it to work on a dedi server and doubt we ever will.... :(

Definitely would be cool to have this. I had some ideas concerning this, gonna have to try them out.

Don't lose faith! I'm sure there's a way just be positive to find the solution :D maybe try watching Mighty ducks or the Karate Kid to restore your faith :P :mrgreen:

well db and eggman have stopped working on it since .5 i think as there is simply no way to network it and if they cant do it, i doubt many other ppl can espically me...

theres still always possibilities... for example the bridge building idea https://www.realitymod.com/forum/showpo ... stcount=41

The whole thing about the collisions models and such. me being no coder I scale the battleship down to a mechanical bridge, change the plane to an apc. Hop out the bridge builder and drive over with the aoc :D I dont see how this is different to a plane driving over the battleship's surface.

I know Its probably still not possible :) but seems theres always a chance, if not a way around things (how about that bridge thing? :P )
