I was bored and thought id go watch some videos of tanks getting blown up by choppers, and i found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHvtoQq3Cq0[/youtube]
seems to me that the hellfires in PR aren't that powerful. I dont think you even have to hit the tank to kill it irl.

i was thinking that irl you dont have to actually hit the tank but only very close. Doing this doesnt kill the tanks in PR. This could be a small step towards more realistic choppers thats WTF i want.(and probably easy)

No IRL you'd have to hit the tank. Hellfires dont have the explosive radius to destroy a tank but rely on a direct hit. Even then, some MBTs such as the Abrams have continued on despite several AGM hits.

Hellfires are designed to defeat armor. Rule of thumb is greater armor penetration = smaller blast radius. They're really quite small as far as missiles go, you definitely need to hit the tank you want to blow up.
The TVGMs are pretty fricking powerful, 1 hit kill on all vehicles I believe. That seems about right.

I think that's a laser guided bomb, not a hellfire.

No they were disabled by recoilless rifles, had their fuel set on fire, disabled, and further destroyed by the crew from the inside. To ensure destruction, an AGM-65 and 2 AGM-114's was fired to ensure component destruction. From the outside it appeared intact.

He's talking about the video... he thinks it's a LGB. I'm certainly not an expert, but I'd tend agree with him.

Same here. The video is too pixelated to tell a thing from it but there seems to be no smoke trail behind.

dunno guys but it says its a hellfire but then again what do they know.

The camera view also supports the fact that it is in fact an LGB. The camera's vehicle is clearly moving at an angle to the target, as the view is rotating around the tank, not head on as apache cam is when firing a Hellfire. Also you see the weapon entering at an angle from the targeting vehicle, meaning that either the cam view we are seeing is not from the firing vehicle or that it is a jet.
So I would say either they don't know ****, or they have information they don't provide to us, i.e. that this is from an uninvolved/spotting aircraft.

Top right hand corner has the altitude, 20000ft. MFD looks like its from a F-16.

The impact in the video is not a hell fire it seemed more like a 250 pounder that was laser guided by a plane not a helicopter (notice the slight strafe).
