The freeze problem

Post by HyniX »

Hello =)

I have look't around in the forums and i have noticed that its quite many that has the freezing problem "freezing the computer when playing pr".

My question is: Will you take a look on this problem or do you think this will be solved with 0.7.
I know that you cant do so much for this when you have 0.7 to do but will it really be any bug/freeze fixes in this version?

Have a nice christmas.

Depends where the freezes come from. Usually it's the player's rig, or malfunctioning hardware, or Vista, or internet connection problems, or.......... etc.

What are you running? And what kind of pc do you have? :)

it has to be punkbuster, it just must be.
lately its causing so much trouble, frequent, differing error messages which really disturb the experience.
otherwise, well, then PR is becoming a very expensive hobby.

I presume you have sound set to ultra high since you have an x-fi. I've found that ultra high sound really stresses your system for some reason. Just try and set your sound to high instead and see if it plays better then. My old system used to struggle abit with ultra high sounds enabled and that was a similar spec to yours.

I am running vista with 2 gigs of ram on a dual core 2.6 mghz processor, with integrated graphics (admittedly on low), and no crashes except for SP map testing.

Probably 95% of the time the problem is caused by your rig. Clean up your HD, make sure you're not running background programs, get rid of spyware, defrag, etc. Also, you might want to cheat out tweakguides.com guides for optimizing your computer and BF2. Personally I'm way too lazy to implement everything in it, but if you're frequently crashing its probably worth it.

Bloomin heck! integrated graphics in this game didn't think that would work at all, we talking intel GMA here or ATi/Nvidia?
