JDAM needs a little fix

JDAM needs a little fix

Yesterday i was a commander one the US team on Quai River. Our team was doing great so we capped all flags exept the PLA main and Estate. Estate was heavily defended, so we desided to drop a JDAM on it. I was near estate, i so i was watching the JDAM hitting its target. It landed (or spawned, not sure how it works exactly) right on top of the building, so i saw some corpses flying in the air, but to my big suprise i could see troops alive on the first and second floor.

Is there any way to make the JDAM kill ppl even when they are behind a building? Coz lets face it, a 5-7cm thick concrete wall wont save you from that big *** bomb when it lands on top of you.

PS, please dont say the work hardcoded ;)

The enemies in the construction would prolly have been killed if the JDAM had been dropped on the ground close to it, but with dropping it on the roof, the damage went "up".

something to keep in mind when dropping a jdam in the future. target it at a low point so it kills "upward" lol

yeah you've got to make sure your lads paint the ground, not a building. Unless it's one of our destructible buildings :p

So... why not just fixing this problem with increasing the damage area, so it also goes "down" for a few meters. I mean, you only got one of these thingies per hour, if it doesnt work then thats really stupid for the team. So, why not just adding a death-area under the explosion?

Qwai River. There is a capture point that has a construction building and a wall around it and a vehicle garage building. We had built a bunker inside the wall area and an AA emplacement. JDAM was dropped on us directly onto the the bunker. I was on the top floor of the construction. I hear the boom and look behind me and see the smoke cloud rising up. I wasn't probably more than 40m away from the center of the JDAM strike and I was above it. I didn't even take a single point of damage. Bunker and AA emplacement completely destroyed. We just rebuilt it quickly. So obviously the JDAM isn't as powerful as we all assume it is. It's just good to take out a single target area of 50 ft or so. At least so far that's all it seems to do.

I think a single bombing run from an A-10 does more damage than a fricken JDAM from what I've seen. It looks impressive but that's about it. BF2 Commander Artillery was more damaging. Kind of sad really.

I remember when this happened and i rushed immediately with my squad into estate and to my surprise there was a nice Lat man to welcome us. ( My squads members were like DAMN I LOVE THE NEW NUKE!! when it hit)

JDAM really needs to be improved it's kinda only for the show now.

i suggest increasing the frequency of which it appears to one every half an hour. because as of right now its damn near useless having one every hour, often it appears when its not needed and is wasted on something meager and at times when you do need it its not available!

Yes, in my opinion it should be more deadly also, seeing people alive after this awesome bomb nukes right on top of them is quite annoying :(

I think, if possible devs - The JDAM should kill EVERYTHING within its max radius regardless of cover, upto like 100m off the ground (So planes don't get caught but choppers do).

And PS I'm not a plane pilot; I'm a chopper pilot :P I just think it's realistic to have a chopper "sucked in"? Though, I've never seen one IRL so what would I know? :)

i was in the building during this JDAM... i wouln't of even know it was dropped on my head if it wasn't for the smoke... no vibration, no damage, no suppression shock effect... the single layer of concrete spared my whole squad, no one was even injured.

I was a little dissapointed that we were not all killed. :(

it looked good though :)
