New reload system (copied from GoW)

Post by Scarlet_Pimp »

How about having a reload system similar to gears of war. Yes I know that GoW isn’t really associated with realism, but it has a neat reloading system which I can imagine is quite realistic so just hear me out.

For those not familiar with this if in GoW when you reload you can have a perfect reload which makes your weapon ready to fire quicker, a standard reload which takes the normal time and a slow reload which takes double the normal time. It is done by having a bar with a coloured area on it and an arrow which moves from left to right over this coloured bar, if you press the reload key as the bar passes over the correct part of the bar you get the quick reload, if you press it at the wrong time your reload goes wrong and the reload takes a bit longer. If you don’t press any thing you have the standard reload. The bar pops up when you have to reload either when you press R or when the weapon is dry.

The reason why I think this would be nice in PR is because I can imagine in real life combat there are times when you try to reload double quick time, these times would be quite stress full and there is the potential to get it wrong and put the mag in at the wrong angle or some other small mishap which still adds seconds to the time before you are ready to fire again. The GoW system I think could add this stress to the game. Imagine you come face to face with an enemy but you both need to reload, the first to be ready to fire again is going to win, your both going to try to reload quickly but if you miss time your reload and your opponent doesn’t you are dead. Just an extra decision for the player.

Neat idea but I don't want no stupid bars around. Tekken?
