I would like to know, if the following idea can be implemented:

First of, it seems that every weapon slot has three fire modes, e.g. the sniper rifle has unscoped, zoom1 and zoom2. So basically, it should be possible to have a weapon slot, where each mode has a C4 clacker in it.

Now, what I would like, is that the Officer kit gets one of those 3x clacker slots. The engineers get one more fire mode with C4, in addition to the regular C4 and clacker.

When an engineer places C4 from any of his modes, he can detonate all placed C4's with own clacker. But, if C4 from mode 1 is placed, it is also linked to the clacker 1 from the oficer kit in his squad (if any) and the same for mode 2 C4 and clacker 2. Both C4's also get linked to clacker 3.

That way, an engineer can place C4, even booby trapping two different areas and then go do something else (repair, shoot, having a cuppatea). Meanwhile, the SL in charge of the defense, can detonate either (clacker 1 or 2) or both (clacker 3) C4's.

This would greatly enhance the usability of engineers while defending an objective.

What do you think? Feasible? Worth the effort?

Well, one clacker blows all the C4 already placed in VBF2, right? If we had them in two slots (ie: buttons 5 and 6) we run into a problem, but if, like in VBF2, it was simply multiple C4s per slot, it could work. I don't know how the clackers would work out.

More so, though, I think the idea of 3 clackers for 2 C4 packs is silly, and fails to actually make them any more usable.

I do like the idea of a squad leader being able to control them, but I see no similar effects which would suggest to me that this is implementable.
