Asset Building Methods

Post by Expendable Grunt »

Just feel like putting it out there so the devs are free to ignore if they like.

Since a few people showed interest in this in another thread, I'd like to put this out for all to see.

Basically, I say we change a few things in how we can deploy assets.

Insurgency (Hypothetical, likely they will never get assets) -- Squad deployable, requiring no commander acknowledgment. Maybe require a supply truck or something like it, to carry stuff to build.

Militia -- Requires no command post, does not require a truck, DOES require commander OK.

Conventional Forces -- Requires command post, and a truck within 50m, or a supply box within 50m. Said supply boxes can be truck dropped, or even helidropped. THe latter will allow fire bases to be built in more creative ways, especially if we can get a parachute on said supply drop.

So yeah pick it apart as you will. Feedback is always win.

love it.

With the trucks always being abused as one way transports, the supply crate idea would come in handy.

The militias equipment really sux, so they should at least be more flexible and agile.

Even with sucky equipment, the militia has a pretty fair fight against the brits. But I think this is a very good idea, would lead to a bit more asymmetry in line with the various factions.

i find this thread's title misleading - you are discussing asset building conditions

methods sound more like deploying methods - like the way the spawn system should work and stuff

- sry if i don't have anything serious to add

Good point SnipingCoward. Title change?

I'm a bit confused about this, could you elaborate Jonny?

Oman and Jabal inspired me to have us build off of supply boxes; it was hard for the US to get a truck very far on Jabal, as mountains restricted you to roads that where easily ambushed, meaning places for good bunkers where limited, especially at Bridge. Firebases had a similar issue.
