ok, i saw this on the game MYTH years and years ago.
You could tell your team where to go by drawing on the minimap. you could erase what you did and redraw at will. the minimap had little pencil icons for the squad leader to activate and draw.
so imagine all your teammates saw you drawing and saying at the same time, "move over here, set up defense here, to protect from attack from this direction" and free-drawing the lines and defense areas.
I'm sure its not possible, but sooooo helpful cause everybody would have the same sketch on their minimap to show them what to do.
Anybody else seen this concept in other games? Is what I'm saying make sense?
carb
minimap drawing possible or not?

I've seen it in other games, but it's not going to happen on the BF2 engine.

OK, but what about some external programs?Kinote wrote:I've seen it in other games, but it's not going to happen on the BF2 engine.
It could be another background communication program (like TeamSpeak) but instead of a voice communication it would give graphic communication to all the users.
It's just an idea, but I think it's possible to create such a program.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY!!!
Do not post stupid suggestions just because you had a bad round in PR

Back in my days of vanilla 5v5 tournaments, we had a program with all the BF2 maps which was basically multi-user MS Paint.
In regular PR play, tabbing out every couple of minutes to plot out shit on an external map and to check the map seems a little useless. Any good squad leader would be able to convey the information via any voice program much quicker. Not going to work with random pubbies anyways, since they'd have to have the program and connect. Nobody wants to type IP's every few minutes. \o/
In the end, good concept but rather useless. Unless you can spend a significant amount of time with a group of people plotting out a strategy... which usually changes within five or ten minutes anyways. We just used it for initial positions and a general idea of what was going on before the match.
Update: Ah, I found the program. ATC Foolish Entertainment
