Moving in on our turf!

Post by Psyko »

it looks like CoD4 is shaking up to be one of the most realist games to date.
And while being so textured that haveing large maps may be limited, it still can do things that BF2 cant do. Enemys have a "last stand" oppertunity to fire their pistol while semi-dead, bullets penetrate surfaces of light dencity, and there are customisable options for kits in multiplayer as well as an Experiance system. All of these things are not on PR!

I love PR, and i really admire that the amount of detail and hours you guys must have put into creating this baby must be abominable!

But there are serious issues which open the flood gates for "lone wolves" to take advantage of.

Force people to spawn near the frontal edge of the battlefield according to first selected class...(so they can defend and attack accordingly)

And fix the guns. the guns are the heart of the game!

One other thing. We really need to have somthing serious done so that new people dont destroy everything! and one death is enough, respawning constantly isnt realistic.

I hope this is a joke. Hahahahaha, Call of Doody.

Seriously this is a completely different gameplay experience and I don't even see what you're talking about on the 'CoD is realistic' front.

About the suggestions, well first you have to say what's wrong with the guns in order for them to 'fix' them. Also spawning right into the middle of a battle isn't really realistic.

LOL! Most of reload animations are wrong, some of the ironsights are messed up too, not to mention the "run and gun" game style and PERKS, oh yeah... those are definately realistic!

That is a perk... and perks are LAME. L-A-M-E. Seriously... this isn't an RPG where you get 10+ xp in accuracy. This is Project REALITY

This would be nice.

Don't think it is possible to customize weapons/kits with the BF2 engine. Also, if you want an experience system, either try vBF2 or ABR (Alternate Battlefield 2 Ranking) which I know some servers are running them. ;)

Not sure where you are getting at with this. Rally Points and Firebases should be somewhere near the frontlines anyhow.

Atleast tell us the problem! Is it accuracy? Recoil? Deviation? etc...

You can't control people, you just can't You have to hope that they learn from their mistakes (face it, they are new.)

Neither is having an army attack with 32 people. Respawning represents a sizable force on the playing field. You represent more than 1 soldier and each respawn you take on the role of another soldier. Plus, with large maps and combined force, gameplay would insanely suck with only 1 life.

Sorry if I came out a little harsh.

I ROFLed.

Maybe if we wanted a totally different game than PR is, has been, or ever intends to be, then yes, we would implement those ideas.

But we don't.

I also hope this is a joke.

"Lone wolves" arent too terribly detrimental to gameplay. Normally if you have an organized team, commander, etc people will join squads.

PR can not be compared to COD4 in any way shape of form. COD 4 is an "Arcade game" much as vBF2 is. PR is a "realistic shooter" and as such won't be moving to COD4 or anything of the sort.

it still can do things that BF2 cant do.

Lots of games can do things BF2 can't, which makes PR and the PR DEV's that much more amazing.

These things can't be in PR ;) Hardcoded.

But there are serious issues which open the flood gates for "lone wolves" to take advantage of.
Serious issues? Such as...

Force people to spawn near the frontal edge of the battlefield according to first selected class...(so they can defend and attack accordingly)
If you wanted to defend, would you like to spawn near the frontal edge? ;)

And fix the guns. the guns are the heart of the game!
Examples of this?

One other thing. We really need to have somthing serious done so that new people dont destroy everything! and one death is enough, respawning constantly isnt realistic.
At the end of the day, PR is a game and as such can't be totally realistic. No game would be played if it was a 2 hour match with one death limit. In that case it would be a 15 minute round...

Anyway... I'm going to lock this thread for a not-doable request/not possible suggestions as well. I'm sorry, but PR doesn't have the mod team that likes to switch engines all the time.

PR has a distinct path, and reverting back to arcadey gameplay isn't one of those options. ;)
