Disable All Chat "K & J"

Post by doggreen »

Fellows, my suggest is Unfortunately the voip default of BF2 is very restricted and I suggest that is the All Blocked Chat:

"K" that enables other sq pass information from enemy positions via all chat and thus delivers the enemy position despite being dead, placed the black screen to prevent this and are now using all chat "K" to pass information, I disagree entirely of this kind of attitude

"J" for all "to avoid any provocations and bad language to the other team unduly.

If we have teamspeak it must be used correctly, as in the armed forces, which allows communication between squads and commander.

In my point of view all the chat spoils the game all the time because people are writing and not pay attention in the game ..

If he wants to chat using specific programmes for this, as messager.

I hope that these suggestions are taken into consideration and the next patch ja have results on this.

tks

disagree- some ppl don't have mics. Sometimes you don't have a commander and need to talk to another squad.

Talking to a pilot for example?

Ghosting is a player side bug.

Tis still a game, and saying "who is flying that A10? He's very good" is nice.

or if you have to "Hey stop basecamping, main is not capable yet"

Organising 64 ppl on TS is very hard, since not all have the server info or the same language.

I disagree as well. That'd be rather crippling in terms of organization, especially when a lot of people don't use TS or similar programs and probably still won't even after the change.

Never seen anybody using the chat to cheat. And the commander have a good use for that feature too. And so and more. Boo!

I would pass messages via team chat about who killed me and where and if I saw something on the deathcam I would pass that along as well.
I'm glad we are blackscreened now but eliminated all chat is just plain foolish.

Not to mention that there are times that people need to suffer public abuse for their stupidity, like ....running over a mine, especially when you have warned on chat, the CO has placed a mine marker and it's a minefield with at least 6 deployed mines, and ...........when it's the SECOND TIME the same idiot has driven through the minefield.

In that case I think it is imperative that everyone in the game know what kind of idiot that person is.
Consider it a public service.

Also, alive people can't see dead people's chat anyway, so you're just talking to yourself when you're dead.

I thopught about this before. I Am one of those chatters, i hate i wanna have a good game instead. But i guess im a chatoholic´.

It would be cool if only commanders and squadleaders could chat. so only relevant info came through, this would decrease the chit chat about irrelevant things ingame.

Its rare to see someone cheat with the chat.
However, there are loots of noncence, kids talking about what they do, and other things, and i hate it, even though im a part of it.

Chat is important for engineers who place mines, chat inside a transport vehicle, SL to SL communication, server administration, voip-less people etc etc etc

From what I understand talking to pilot, even giving orders is a function of the commander;

For basecamping understand that all servers have admins and here it is for him and warn if necessary kick or ban;

This is the time for all move to use the TS correctly is a program efficient and easy to install, in addition all the servers they inform the IP, if not then need to show this info?

We all like this mod champion and we want it to be as close to reality as the name of the game now says.

This is the time, therefore the communication has to be extremely necessary and correct as it is in the armed forces.

We will also prevent the pollution of the screen with messages that do not add anything to in the game.

Oh, please don't. I love telling enemy A10s and snipers how much I hate 'em in the chat! This is part of gameplay, and after all (sorry to tell you this) it's still a videogame.

Not to mention that the communication with other squads would become very complicated.

"Commander, this is airsquad 2, could you please tell those guys on my miniguns to stfu?!"
"Commander, tell everyone i placed mines at the south road!"
"Commander, how are you?"
"Commander, i cant request kit! How to do?"
"Commander, whats the shovel for?"
"Commander, what does RTFM mean?"
"Commander, we're waiting for our orders since 1/2 hour now!"
"Commander, do you want to hear the new song i've written?"
"Commander, could you please tell that pilot that we need to use the miniguns because there is a tank down there!"
"Commander, could you explain those idiots that you cant kill a tank with the minig*BOOOM*"
"Commander, a helicopter just dropped on my mates head. I need a medic over here, but he's running in the other direction! Could you..."
"Commander, i'm afk, please tell every squad that i am"
"Commander, i'm bored, do you have time for a talk"
"YEEAH, got that *******. Oh, sorry, wrong key."
"Commander, when will the TS server be restarted again?"
"Commander, could you tell Squad 3's SAW-gunner that he isnt allowed to shoot at the base?"
"Commander, we're under friendly fire! Tell squad 4 to stop shooting at us!"
"Commander, where's the toilet?"

- Commander disconnected -

Yea, on pub servers you hardly ever have a commander. If you remove the chats then how are the pilots on the trans. choppers going to know where to drop you off...if you don't have a commander.

Come on. Even if PR stands for Project Reality, a game should still be fun. Chatting around is sometimes part of a fun game, taking away chatting would:

1. NOT improve gameplay
2. NOT improve language use
3. Decrease the amount of fun.

Language will start to grow in squads and if you have one guy that says 'shit' quite often it will be even more annoying.

The all chat should be restricted to sq leaders and commanders, teamchat should be for all.

One simple question.

Why?

How the hell do you think admins recieve problem reports? Usually only regular players on a server are on the teamspeak. So no regulars = no rules.

This is a terrible idea. I'm not even going to bother explaining why as no doubt everyone else will have it covered. Just leave it please,

BAD idea! It doesn't consider all sorts of things, for example, if 2 clans are trying to play a scrim or a match, how the heck are the captains on each team supposed to talk to each other?? lol... You haven't thought this through.

Instead you should be suggesting a chatfilter cvar, like:

client.chatview 0, 1, 2, 3
0 = see no chatting
1 = see squad chats
2 = see team chats (and squad chats)
3 = see ALL chatting.

This is the kind of thing that mods for games like QuakeWars are quite capable of doing, but I bet it's not possible in BF2 due to how limited the modability is.
