Im sorry but it kills this mod. there is no amount of teamwork that can get you out of a situation that the second you spawn you die because thats all the enemy team has to do.

That is primarily a problem with the map design, not the mod. However, there are certain things the mod can do to help prevent basecamping, and I believe they are already considering and testing them.

Several times tonight My team was confronted with this exact situation. It is possible to get out of this situation it just takes a little planning, a lot of team work and a HUGE ammount of luck.

well, sure u can get out with some teamwork, unless the other side has the same thing and are already putting a clamp on ur position, then ur royally screwed.

most of the problem arises from the fact that u have zero time to prepare urself as u magically materialize from thin air into predictable location, right into the sight of waiting machine gunners who were more than happy to share some of their ammo with u.

there has to be a way to introduce the respawning players into the battlefield without such a high risk of being blasted to pieces upon arrival, a shelter for spawning that are easily defendable perhaps? It should be immune to airstrike as well if this is uncapable base, or if the code allows and i'm being ambitious perhaps the new wave of spawning players should arrive in a vehicle (air drop anyone?) , this will probably not gonna happen given what seems to be rather limited and stiff restrictions on the game engine.

I dont think a safe spawn point is at all possible, if you can get out of that position somone can surely get to it.
And even then it would be too much work rethinking and modifying each map (which is a no-no not having the source files as i understand it )

One thing I've been thinking about is the fact that we just Pop out of thin air without knowing where we are nor the situation --> bringing a lamb to the slaughter.
Probably not codable, but having a few seconds heads up of the spawn point we are about to appear on.
As we get a long and nice view of our surroundings when we die, having that when we get "born" could be nice.

I propose a simple solution.

Get rid of "uncapable" bases.

This will turn base camping into base TAKING, also will sort out what maps need balancing for each side.

Several times in the BF2 forums the subject arrises of spawn armor for 3 or 5 seconds. Is this possible? I think it would REALY help. Then again, If your position is overrun some one screwed up and should't you pay?
