Flag capping info

Post by kylerthegod »

Hey guys,

as i'm learning this game and interested in learning more how to become an effective squad leader, there is one crucial point i dont get.

On some maps, you cant cap some flags without capping others first.
How can i tell this? It does not seem to be common knowledge as more then once there was discussion on VOIP about such a case, especially on the map called Fool's Road.

Is there info somewhere on this matter and on maps so i can read up on it and not depend on hearesay, speculation or guesses?

The guide is almighty.

These appear on the map over the flags that are in play.

Orange = Attack here

Purple = Defend here

On your map, press 'm' to bring it up, you will notice that some flags have purple markers on them and some flags have orange markers on them.

Flags with purple markers mean that the enemy can capture them, so they need to be defended.

Flags with orange markers can be attacked and captured.

Once you capture a flag, a purple marker will appear on it, and the next flag that needs to be attacked will gain an orange marker. The opposite will happen if the enemy captures a flag.

On some maps, two flags are in the same 'group'. This means that they both need to be captured for the next flag 'group' to become available.

THANKS !

that's so much more clearer now. i thought these markers were commander requests that were visible to all.

Is there a way to know which are connected to which (like prepare the next flag assault force) from information available online.

This would be helpful say you want to attack flag X, if you know you have the choice between 3 flag to assault, to hit the right one...

The flags normally go in a pretty logical order, from one main to the other.

The only way to learn which flags come next is to play the maps.

They're used to be indications about flag orders in the loading map, but they've been reimplaced by new maps showing available assets. And as far as i know, you can't find them anymore anywhere.

However, as Pride said, the flag order is pretty logical. On most of the symetrical maps, you've got this kind of order :

Team A main base >>> Team A outpost >>> Central flag 1 /// Central flag 2 (flag group : both have to be captured and held to attack the following one) >>> Team B outpost >>> Team B main base.

You can find that kind of organisation, eventually with variants concerning Outposts (maybe two of them by team, linked or not) on maps as Kashan, Qinling, Qwai River, Ejod Desert (2 outposts), Al Kufrah, Fools Road (2 outposts, and British one already captured), Operation Ghost Train (2 outposts in a same group), etc...
