It's a Persian Whale Fish, a deep water species, very common off the coast of Oman, and widespread throughout the Persian Gulf.

In Muttrah, it's the most popular fish on the market, something like 75% of the fish landed in Muttrah is Persian Whale Fish (though don't quote me on that, i'm just going by memory)














(i'm BSing by the way, there is no such thing as a Persian whale fish)
