The principal problem with catching those pesky civis is that they will just run away despite the angry men pointing guns at them...

We've already discussed rubber bullets etc, and AFAIK it didn't get anywhere.

Now, I was wondering if there was a way to make the civilians have a bleed out period longer than the average insurgent, even if it meant increasing the Civilian's total health.

that way you could give them a shot in the leg if they are running away, then they cant sprint, you run over and knife the bugger.

I don't have any problem with them running away what I hate is that lot of them are trying to run infront of there friendlys so that they can get shot.

I was thinking maybe allowing SL to kill civis or the spec ops/snipers to shoot civis it was better b4 they could run 12x as far as you can WTF civis running track and running 10 miles to keep in shape i don't believe civis can run that far i shoot them 2x in the leg turns black/white maybe make it where if the civi is suppressed they cant run and you can have 1 shoot the ground by the civi and one knife him this would be nice

Perhaps use a tear gas round for the grenade launcher?

How about just Civis can´t run, or have a very limited sprint? That will make them stay safe with a buddy or on a roof spotting and not do all this bunnyhopping around british soldiers in the desert.

That would be much better than shooting at them, yes. The problem with the civilians is not that the others should be allowed to do more against them, you have to change the way civilians behave. Civilians should get a huge penalty for dying, with no difference between suicide and a kill. The punishment for arrests should be shorter, so the civilians prefer being arrested if they know there is no other way.

They already have a really short sprint time

Why should they bleed out longer. There civis they should bleed out faster, there not used to being shot.

No ruin's whole point of them being ingame and is not realistic at all.

Already suggested, and no. Its only used in crowd control, not really carried by front line troops.

there sprint level is already low enough for them poor civis. :p

Only way to arrest civis should be the knife and how it is. In real like i'm sure civis run from being arrested. Or at least I hope.......

Kinda agree with Ltsoucy on the main point. They are already down to the lowest they get, ofcourse it is annoying if they are bunnyhopping around soldiers but PR kinda stop that when they made jump costing a lot more stamina, ergo they will be easier to catch when they are done hopping.

+ If they get too much downgraded there wont be much fun in them, it will make them too easy to arrest and ofcourse, no one wants to play them any longer.

Tried the annoying scenario when I want to knife a civil they jump, run and such, but eventually ends up they get knifed anyway. That is the fun part, I mean if you just make them shake their pants and make them unable to move everytime a soldier points at them, where is the fun in that?

Yah that would be my only point Soucy, just cos you never been shot doesn't mean you will bleed more. But I thought the civis sprint was longer than everyone elses?

Very true, but since we can't get civilians to stand the heck still to be arrested. "get on the ground, cross ur ankles" type stuff it seems like a reasonable trade off in my mind...but so much happens in my mind.... :wink:

I wouldn't want to decrease their sprint, although they arent Olympic sprinters they aren't carrying anything heavy, so I think their sprint is fine.

Can any1 knowledgeable on such things tell us what SOP is regarding suspected insurgent collaborators and what happens if they run away?

Who says civilians haave long sprints? YOu just stink if you can catch them taht way. Just don't let one of your guys go it alone after a civilian

In real life nearly all the actions I've seen by PR "civilians" would have lead to them being shot, not being chased around a neighborhood by a squad in the middle of a pitched battle like a comedy sketch.

mm isnt it so that even if you are shoot 50 times in your leg you will not bleed slower because the blood has experience. Bleeding fast or slow is genetic. it isnt like wow where you get EXP.
