F-35A,B,C??

Post by [=TC=]nuetron »

I am not suggesting these, as I am sure that they have been suggested before. But a few weeks back I suggested the F-117 NightHawk for Project Reality and the team said no, it would be reitred soon...So if this mod is what it is, (a War fought in the near future) then will there ever be a F-35??? I ask this because the Harrier is comming in 0.8, but in 2010 the F-35 will come into service and replace the beloved Harrier...Will Project Reality replace the Harrier by then?

I love the Harrier as much as the next guy, perhaps even more(as I am obsessed with the looks of my aircraft) But I also love the F-35 and wonder if it will ever be in Project Reality...

Wouldn't the F-35 be the perfect way to usher in the post 1.0 Project Reality? We know that Project Reality will only grow, but it just would not be complete if by 2010 and the British and American forces would not have the upcomming replacement for the Harrier. That is like having a F-14 in Project Reality for the American team. I am not saying that the Harrier after all that hard work should be thrown away, I am saying that the F-35 should be introduced alongside the Harrier in Project Reality. At first, squadrons will be mixed with Lightning II's and Harriers so it would be possoble that the F35 would be able to work with the Gr.9.

2008-2009 is when the U.S.A.F is replacing the F-16 with the F/A-22 so V1.0= F/A-22
and NO to the F-35 EWWWWWWWWW VBF2 yuck!

Ya i don't want it replaced! I just think the F-35 should be ingame, like different maps take place in different years...The Harriers would be in their maps, while the F-35 would be in slightly even more future-ish-ness maps.........maps farther ahead in the future! there.

Also, they aren't going to put the F-22 ingame

The F-117 has been retired since 10/28/2006 and they're all at Holloman AFB New Mexico.

You would be naive to think that all the F-16s will be gone by then. The F-16 will be in service for at least another decade, in ever decreasing numbers of course.

Why not a counter attack map like Zatar Wetland whit Jet ? i mean F35 is entering service ( no matter what you people said about it ) and Harrier still in service, both have STOVL capabilities, so F35 will be air supremacy and Harrier attack jet...plus US air lifted Marines :D that could be Epic!

in fact I would say the JSF is one of DICE's best models, along with the SU-30mkk and a few other ones, the big problem with the JSF in vBF2 is the way it handled and it was soo easy to destroy.

no, i think ur right :)

we must bear in mind however that the USS Essex is an assault ship, and not a full blown aircraft carrier, so the number of jets on the Essex in the game will be 2 at most, since, like the HMS Ocean, its focus is on helicopters and amphibious assaults

Tru tru Rhino, tho the size of the F35 in battlefield now seems even smaller considering that I saw it last weekend (1:1 scale model. HUGE).

Anyways, this was probably some off topic.

You sure it was a F-35b and not a F-35c or anything? Cos the F-35b is only 15m long, only a little bit larger than a Harrier.

ye I watched a whole documentary series a few years back on the X-35 and the F-35 development, IMO the X-35 didn't deserve to make it anyways, the F-35 is a much better aircraft overall :)

X35 was the prototype, I'd imagine still in Edwards or some museum.

Actually the USS Essex is tailer made to launch Harriers and the F35B is tailer made to launch off of it's deck. Where as the HMS Ocean is for helicopters.

This would be how the USS Essex normally operates...
Image

Notice a full flight wing(or w.e its called) of Harriers.

In comparison, this is the HMS Ocean....
Image

Notice no fixed wing aircraft.

EDIT: Not that i want more than 2 jets on deck, im just saying that the Essex is a different breed than the Ocean.
