Remove kills/deaths scores.
Hey all, just something that crossed my mind.
Now we all know the TAB button and it's function, it displays Overall Score - Teamwork - Kills - Deaths and ping.
Actually I was wondering, if it would be possible to remove the kills and deaths score?
Since this is realism, you shouldn't really care about your overall kills ratio. (Yes I know you gunners want people to see your great 40+ kills but in truth, couldn't care less if you make the high 50, and no one likes anyone who prag about their gaming life.)
Fact is, Kills/deaths is old school vanilla. No need for it here in PR really, here you only need to see your overall score and teamwork right?
It aint really the big change of life, just thought it would be nice to hear you guys opinion about being able to see kills and deaths off other players.
(And if you really want to know your kills, you could just count or write a / on a piece of paper to remember your kill score)
Ofcourse you should still be rewarded score with kills but just make everyone unable to see the scores would be a twist, and the only main big score to look at is generally your teamwork score. (This way people would notice teamwork players and so forth...)
So guys, your opinion(s)?

+1
That'd end the mindless chase for kills and hopefully players would disengage quicker when ordered to.
Or maybe we should keep just the death score to emphasize the value of staying alive?

You don't always know if you got a kill or who got the kill so, I think it would be hard to write down you kills. It's nice to be able to see how you are doing from round to round.
If brute force doesn't work.......your not using enough of it.

I wouldn't mind this. You could just get the score for kills but it'd be insignificant but you'd still see your deaths, I'd like that. I really dont care for my kills, I'm a capper. I kill when i have to but i want to win and if i can win a game w/o getting one kill, then i'll take that.

Re: Remove kills/deaths scores.
I'd rather not.
I'd like to be able to look a pilot's kill/death ratio before I tell my squad to load up in his chopper.
Plus, in the tournament you're informally expected to maintain a certain kill/death ratio, and will be rewarded with medals for higher ones. However, this pales in comparison to knowing whether or not the pilot can actually fly or if he will just waste 9 tickets and an asset.

hmm, well I'dd never played in a tournament, but I can see where you are going.
Well, suggestion none the less, actually I was once TK'd by someone who had 40 kills, and it was the most stupid tk ever, even wrote cease fire on location I were in and still he shot, god made me angry. THOUGH he's excuse were= "Yeah right idiot, look at my score and tell me I am a noob again" and that was the final straw of stupidity. But meh nothing to do with the thread really, just come to my mind. (but yeah, it were a vanilla noob)

I'm not a fan of "Whos the most LEET guy" but I never check the score until the end of the game anyways now. Removing it wouldn't do much, its just a game. But trust me I feel you pain.

Re: Remove kills/deaths scores.
Codered, damn you are an understandable fellow.
But yeah, seen often in a squad that when we are chasing another one, and suddently gets a command from commander to go somewhere, you juuuuuuust have to kill the remainings of that squad for more kill scores, cause it is easy, but not neccesary.
But main point is, instead of favoring kill score, you should favor teamwork score. Get my drift?

Re: Remove kills/deaths scores.
It can be a nice boost to open up the window and see that you are doing better than you thought, or how your squad is doing. As SL I like to look when time permits to see how my squad is performing and give credit to those that are standing out, although it's always good to give everyone a pat on the back.
I was on Al Basrah the other day and was having what I thought was a decent round. The SL was giving competent orders, the squad was working well together, covering each other. I take a moment to see how I'm doing and realize I've got 40+ kills, that was a nice moment and made me enjoy the squad all that much more. There are the opposite days too, when I've killed 2 guys and been filled full of holes 13 times, it's nice to know how BAD i'm doing then.
Agree with the chopper pilot response as well. Nice to look and see how the pilot seems to be doing.

Re: Remove kills/deaths scores.
There's two kinds of PR players, those who play for score, and those who don't care. Since those who don't care never check the score, and those who do care check it and get a small morale boost for it, leave it in.

As it stands right now your almost get more points from objectives then kills. Which is the way it should be!But main point is, instead of favoring kill score, you should favor teamwork score. Get my drift?
Removing kills altogether would be great, but maybe only as a clan setting. Player's are still playing to get kills.

I think the scoreboard should be removed until either the end of the round or completely.

Re: Remove kills/deaths scores.
Kills should be removed IMHO, people still check the scoreboard to confirm the kill, even if it is 30+ seconds after, not to mention some of the kills don't even register. The only way you should be able to tell if you killed someone is if you're standing over their dead body. The less people worry about their K : D ratio, the more people start caring about teamwork and other elements PR has to offer. I know a lot of people press the tab key more than they press w to walk forward.
Anyways, that's my opinion.

Even better, you get rid of the "kill verification" but hold onto the wang waving at the end[R-DEV]CAS_117 wrote:I think the scoreboard should be removed until either the end of the round or completely.

Re: Remove kills/deaths scores.
Could probably work if you removed the TAB scoreboard completely and only when the round change that you will see the scores you've and others made.
Besides then the TAB could work for something else in-game?
Oh and would be good to have the 3 min spawn time for pragging about last round, Mora you would love 3 min of fame before a round if you played a gunner
ps ReaperMac: Love you already.
