I kill insg through walls all the time with the L85, the AK does the same but strangely enough it will not shoot through the floors

Yes, everything should go through, including pistols calibers.
Maybe the pistol rounds shouldnt, but for the rest its okay i think. Maybe with a bit reduced damage.

Yes, they really do, but they are a bit weaker on the receiving side. If that makes you feel better

Bullets in penetrate all kinds of things in the real world, so why not have it do the same in game. Only adds to the realism.

Well if a round has enough powder behind it it can penetrate.

Well even though the destruct buildings are made out of basically plaster a 5.56 round after having to punch through that I wouldn't think it would have much left. A 7.62 round I could see punching through those walls easy. With a .50 you should be able to make yourself a new door if you really wanted to. I think .50 and up should be the only thing to punch through walls. Having everything go though I think would take away from the realism a bit to much.

If I remember correctly from Ross Kemp in Afghanistan some of those mud walls can take bullets pretty well, but I guess those building's walls would get some penetration, especially from 50s as thermis said

I once teamkilled someone in 0.6 on Helmand with the Ak47 by accidentally firing one shot that went through the wall and TKd my squad mate on the other side running towards the house. Most random TK ever.

On the topic,yes they do penetrate, they even penetrate in BF2 through those tin fences.
