Counter-attack, with insurgents?

Was thinking, say you have Sangin. Now have it like a counter attack map, but with Brits v insurgents, with the brits actually using their base defenses for once? Then the insurgents get counter attacked, and there are say, 5 caches to find? I think it could be quite cool.

Awesome idea the thought of Molotov’s raining fire over the walls of the compound scares the **** outta me though :shock:

I'll be honest i thought that was what sangin was going to be anyway.

Well the scene could be a massive insurgent uprising catching british forces by surprise, they have to wait for reinforcements?

mabye not an actual base because that might be hard to do IRL, but perhaps like a vehicle checkpoint (larger than basra's)

the main bases in PR now are just small outposts compared to real bases, in which case insurgents have attempted raids on many CF outposts in afghanistan.

great idea btw i love it, if its up for votes i'm in 100%

kinda takes you back to the days when VCP at Basrah was cap-able which made the game much more interesting for the insurgents and british

well actually only a few days ago over 200 taliban were able to surround an American forward operating base without being noticed, and when they attacked some of the taliban were actually able to penetrate the base. they ended up killing 9 american soldiers, which is very sad but it proves that they can pull off pretty big attacks.

^ I was gonna say that. Its scary as heck to think that can happen (and if i'm not mistaken 4 ANA and 2 ISAF soldiers were injured)

the suggestion is good, but as long as its defending VCPs and FOBs rather than huge british bases of doom, then I would enjoy the mode and combining it with insurgency for caches would also be good (but would you be able to stop the british gathering intel b4 the counter attack began?)

I dunno, but I think, say once the Counter happens, you immediately have 1 or 2 cache locations, otherwise it may take forever.

Any DEV input into this? Or shall it be lost the realms of the Suggestion Forum FOREVER!!! jokes, but would be nice if a) its possible, b) it could be implemented.

9 US soldiers died when the insurgents tried this for not to long ago.

Well it was a US outpost but it was a base under US defense with proper defense.

Looking at the numbers, they failed hard. 200 attackers and 9 kills? If this is realistic, how would it turn out in PR? Would 10 guys in an outpost in PR be able to take on an entire 31-man team (hypothetically) and only take one or two deaths?

Anyway, great idea, I support it 100%. (Not that my support has any influence on the R-DEVs...)

Yeah well this is set slightly in the future, in a time I'm guessing a bit more turbulent than now, so this would make sense, also apart from anything its a variation from just AAS, AAS, AAS, AAS which can get dull.

Awesome idea +1 man. Just as long as the British get say 500 tickets and very little armor maybe a scimitar or 2, then when the Counter attack starts a Challenger II and some Warriors spawn. Dont make there be two many flags to capp I think just holding one VCP the size of 4 of the Basharah ones would be perfect.


Also if posible make the battle taking place at Dawn so the INSg have the cover of darkness, but just enough light so NVG's arent needed
