AA tank

Post by kf_reaper »

AA tanks there somthing need in the field. and with the new stabilizers on the tanks its makes it better for the tank crew to work together. but for that AA tank man it realy makes life hard at times. last time i played with the AA tank i spent more time trying to get out of the USMC spawn then anything els and even get a TK. with i did not mean to do.
i realy thing that the AA tanks should be a 2 man crew driver and gunner. but thats just what i think.

The tunguska is bloody impossible to drive lol. Me and Rudd tried it and failed hard lol. But the problem is that wastes 1 more man on the field.

I seriously hope AAV's will be 2 manned in the future, as it is now, they are being soloed ALOT, and also it shouldn't be soloed, it should always be accompanied by 1 - 2 tanks at least, they are not some vehicles that are "move to point and watch for aircrafts".. They are ment to accompany tanks and other vehicles for air defense.

On kashan I just see too many AA vehicles rolling out for themselves, I understand them alright, you can get easy kills because you control the AA for yourself, but you can also be taken out quite easily by a tank.

As mentioned, it will be 1 man less on the battlefield indeed, but it would promote teamwork to operate AAV's.. And this is PR, reality for the win :D

I never fail lol, but you looks drunk as a skunk

2 manning could work, but its rather annoying considering the 6 man squads

I like 2 tanks in one squad, one officer and one engineer. I cant fit a AAA in this table of organisation for a pub game.

Personally I wouldn't mind them being 1-manned since they (should) have limited use (the Tunguska eats everything though), as long as they maed them a bit damned easier to control.

IMO as a single-seat vehicle, I don't see why the turret can't be locked to the hull while turning (i.e. if a vehicle is facing North and teh driver rotates the hull to face East, unless the driver uses their control to maintain a North view, the turret should now be facing east). As it is now, the turret maintains it's direction regardless of the hull movement. In a 2-man vehicle this is a good thing, but in a 1-man it's a real pain.

its also hard for 1 man to drive and gun the dame things as well if your moving with tank or APC. i end up going the wrong way half of the time. it realy should be a 2 man. ya i know it takes away form the squad. but if you wanna run a AAV then you gota do it right. not the wong way.
to me right no the AAV is set up the wong way. eather make it 2 maned or take away the gun stabilizers. i would rather have it 2 man

+ if it ws 2 man i think that a little more could be done with it to make it alot better for an team to use it with there tanks and APC. and not lone wolfing it.

Even if you did make it 2 man, what is to stop someone parking up on a mountain and blasting at everything in range?

AA vehicles dont have to move (they cant chase after planes after all) and so one manning would still be a problem.

lol. And when your driving up with thanks you wont be taken out easily? You will still be the softest target and easiest scoring of kills.

I know you should be a teamplayer and reality gamer so if you encounter enemy armour squad with a AA vehicle you should engage the tanks ( because they fire back at you ) but for some people they will go for the easy kill.

I really don't see what the AAV driver's role would be, if the AAVs were 2-man?

Also dont see a driver role. :(
A aa isnt a attack vehicle like a tank or an apc. So if it stands around and clean the sky from enemy planes etc. its more than perfect. Why waste another guy in "camping" around?

:-| ... Driving?

You know that is what drivers do, like tank drivers, their role is to drive. (Nah I know what you mean, tank drivers can spot enemy vehicles for their gunners, but hey, so can the AAV driver if he can get a overview, support the gunners.)

Though I would agree to 1 man useage, if the AAV's didn't have a cannon which shouldnt be used for infantry and stuff like that, but unfortunatly it still is.

Though as it is now, I.. I won't say rarely, but the soloing of tanks have been decreased, or at least that is my experience on late night public servers. Due to the fact that it is 2 manned, the turret load time and all that. Today the most soloed tanks are by those guys that knows the glitch and that is annoying as hell.

And also that hole server rule that some servers are running: "NO SOLOING" and all that.. Could be nice if there was a rule like: "DON'T DRIVE AAVS ALONE" .. or something like that Idntkno.

AAV gunner can see stuff before the driver anyway... He got a frikkin green box around air assets

You could remove the zoom or add just one zoom level instead of two for a start.

Uuh. My fault, I ment support the tank gunners if he had an overview over the battlefield like the tank drivers got.

If they do happen to park behind a hill for protection, they can however have a lookout for anything that should come from the back, attempting a ambush.

AAV can be used against light vehicles and infantry, and there is no green box on them
