You might want to give more info, And be more specific. if you really want someone to help...

Did you uv map the color layer on channel 1 and the normal on channel 2?

did you actually render the model/skin? the render in the 3ds window is of dramatically lower quality than an actual render/quick render. Otherwise, try making your texture file resolution larger.

max uses something like mip2 as default to increase perfomance, you can set it to use higher rez textures but in the end, if you want to see how your texture looks in final you need to do a render. But then when you put it ingame it will use the MIPs again so you dont want to rely on anything to fine.

you probably need to configure your max to improve your quality in the viewports when working with textures/pics..

go to the customize menu > preferences. "Viewports" tab and chose "configure driver".

should give a pretty noticable boost in quality :)

edit. looking great btw. will be a fine piece once you are done. Glad to see that someone is acually sticking with the project, nice job mate.

Very nice.. I see that you are following the tutorial pretty closely.. Its nice to see that at least some people are paying attention and actually finishing these tutorials. Even though all is being explained for you, you still have made the stuff on your own, which should give you the understanding and techniques to take on projects of your own :)

So find a community mod and hope for a small project.. it will give you experince while you help out :) Maybe a static if nothing else is exciting enough for you :)

Ture, I think I got into it a bit too early, but I'm loving it now even though the pressure can build up at time - but it is often these times you learn the most :)

Tomato if you can model that you can model a few boxes or a house easily....Maybe some trees would be a good project as you will have to learn to work with alpha maps?
