Does anyone know which file format is needed for 3D models to be imported into PR? Basically, which kind of file is exported?

maya files, dunno what type can be exported strait to the editor which is how DICE made BF2 thou i know very little about that..
3DsMax has a plugin which I and basically every dev here who deals with models uses.
Its not easy to use, normally a coder dose the exporting.

Ahh. O.K. I was just thinking about using some other program. Thanks, though.
Anyone else know what file format is used?

You can add .skinnedmesh to that list
Yeah, you have two options:
- Work in maya, save to .mb (iirc), and use the bf2 editor to convert to the relevant bf2 format.
- Work in 3ds max, use the exporters mentioned above.

.skinnedmesh (never seen that 1)
.staticmesh
.bundeledmesh
.collisionmesh
Best Max Plugin to export to Bf2 and REimport back to Max, its working in 6-8,9 and also 08 whit some work arounds
